iPhone 6+ bendgate issue.

Got my 6+ on Friday. I tested it right out of the box on two different surfaces by placing it screen down and shining a light behind it. I can basically see the light bleed through the central 1/3.

You can't really tell it's bent otherwise as it's not obvious enough but I guess it's not perfectly flat either. If that's as bad as it gets then I'm not bothered.

Seriously? All those bend tests on YouTube are utterly pathetic in my opinion. Just look at how much force they put in to actually trying to bend the phone. Of course it's gonna bend if you try to bend it. And seriously, do sane people really put a £700 phone in their back pocket and then sit on it and not expect damage in some way or another?

Day 10 of owning a BendiPhone - Stil not bent.

Disappointing really, but then I'm not a moron who's likely to bend it. They are absolutely not bending through 'normal' use and storage.

Why are you calling people on the forum morons?

What else can you absolutely tell us after having one handset for ten days? My point isn't that you're right or wrong, simply that it's unwise to absolutely assume anything.

Just notice my bend has got a bit worse, screen + glass starting to lift away from the frame a bit near the mute button.
Haven't been too fussed until now but I think this is bad enough to ask for a new unit?

This is just from it being in my pocket walking to/from work really, and no I don't wear remotely tight jeans!

Went into the Cribbs Causeway store and they basically fobbed me off, and I had to make an appointment with a 'Genius' for Wednesday.

Has anyone here successfully got a replacement? What's the tactic, all they said was 'It's not covered by the warranty and we'll see what we can do'. Completely unacceptable, I'm not leaving with anything but a new unit.

Totally understandable... but is the new unit going to be any different? For whatever reason, it bent... then won't the new one also bend ?

Well if the new one bends he takes that one back too? It's not acceptable for such an expensive device to bend like that in normal use...

I thought Apple publicly stated they will replace all bent 6+?

Tbh I can't see how it's not happening to other 6+ users? If it's in your pocket it's surely gonna bend, I even take it out before sitting down and its on my desk most of the day. It's only in my pocket for ~1 hour a day walking to/from work, and I wear loose jeans because I'm a fatty.

I'm assuming I'm just gonna have to get a replacement every like 6 weeks or so at this rate? It's got a lot worse today I can actually see into the phone on that edge, amazingly though it still works fine!

Any new images. As I was thinking changing my 6 for one but might not bother. You got it in a Apple case as I wonder if that help prevent it bending

Managed to get some better pics before I take it back tonight. From general Googling etc. it seems very unlikely to be replaced, absolutely ridiculous!

The gap is pretty substantial, I can get a finger nail in there. Only a matter of time before dust/moisture gets in there and I have a £700 brick.

I'm pretty sure in the official statement apple said any bent handsets would be replaced. surely you can just show them that? I'm shocked that they won't replace it. You may want to try your luck with another store, i've found that the "helpfulness" can vary a bit by region!

On the contrary, they've basically denied it happens. There's a few threads on reddit/macrumours etc. where people have been denied replacement.

How exactly did they all get bent?!

Not surprised they told you to do one as 7 phones damaged sounds suss.

Ditching all your Apple products because of this seems quite petty and a childish overreaction.
