Hi,

Never really sold a mobile online, but have received a message asking for the serial/IMEI number so they can run background checks.

Would I be stupid to give it to them or is it perfectly normal?

Thanks

They want to check whether the phone has been reported lost / stolen and whether it currently has an iCloud account associated with it via Apple's website:
https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/

If your iCloud account is still linked to the handset when sold they will not be able to wipe the handset :).

I wouldn't worry about it!

Anyone know why I can't open that link? When I click it I get this meesage...

Jake 657, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
No big deal, I just wondered.

He has MM access, his trust says he has sold stuff before.

He would have had access under the old rules.

I haven't sold anything before. I don't even know what MM stands for, but I'm guessing it's the For Sale section or somesuch?
( I only use OCUK for the Mobile Phones forum, I don't even look in the other ones.)

Ah, gone mad, thought you were the op replying as to why he cant open the thread lol.

let the Cider games begin!!!
