I do believe it's the cheapest 970M currently available at OCUK!

Can't help but think that the 3GB VRAM will soon become a limiting factor with these 970M's...

Hey RichDog

It's a toughie, because in the other posts we did, people were saying they don't need a 6GB 970M and can we do a cheaper 970M.

I think 3GB is a decent amount. Of course 6GB would be better but then the price would also increase.

This is a great unit for people who have a certain price point in my opinion.

Agreed about catering to the lower price-point, but I do think with this level of luxury purchase that it's worth spending 5-10% more to add longevity.

I agree matey, and that's why we have so many models out.

I think for the price, it's a great unit tho, and I think it will cater for some people who just do not have that extra 5%-10%.

It's only a limited QTY, so we shall see how this goes.

Just bought one of these, you say it can hold 3 ssd's? Is this aswell as the mechanical drive?

More importantly that isntalling them voids the warranty?!?

Depends - 3GB at the moment and for a fair time yet is fine for 1920x1080 gaming and the GPU core probably doesn't have the grunt for stuff like 4K where the lack of VRAM could/would be an issue any way.

So I've just been told by overclockers technical team that taking the back off and therefore ruining the warranty sticker, will void the warranty.

Is the official word that it wont? Don't want to void it after just a few hours....

Hi Flashheart

If you open the back, we have no issue as nothing get's damaged.

In the event of a return with something faulty, if the UKSUPPORT service center see any physical damage to anything inside, they will refuse the warranty work.

All we ask is that you be very careful when you install or upgrade anything as this will be checked in case of any future issues.

In short : you can remove the back no problem, please just do not damage anything!
