It's a decent game and it's nice to see space sims making a comeback.

For me though the main issues are:

It's all too safe, trade runs barely have any threat, stations are well protected, you barely have the opportunity to take out real players.
Bounties i find dull.
Economy is basic.
Trade runs becoming tiring.
Space Station interiors are practically the same, there is no sense that you are in a different star system to the hundreds of others.
Ships don't feel special even the Anaconda.

Like i said above i feel it needs lots more added too it to really keep me wanting to play, it just feels like a basic single player game with the odd real player dotted around. There is no social aspect to it which surely a game like this screams out for.

Will see what Beta 3 brings but can't see it fixing the majority of my issues.

That said flight model is nice, it runs well and looks pretty decent, sounds are pretty solid too.

Great post - I saw the capital gunship video and was blown away by what I saw but jeez they need to put more in the game or its going to get boring very quickly....

Yep, me too. No access to my build log so I guess I'll post here instead:

Currently varnishing before I can assemble these and start playing again.

Edit: Varnished

Yeah, I've not logged on in months, but it certainly doesn't sound like they've added in any of the features they were talking about at the very start.

Thank you for the comments. I do enjoy building things, probably as much as gaming. I've made an arcade machine, gaming desk, console cabinet and sim racing rig. All that was needed to finish the set was a setup for space/flight sims. My games room will hopefully be complete once this is done.

I have thought about putting some kits together for the cases - I'd need to model in 3D and look into fabrication options - as much as I'd love a CNC, I don't have the finances or space unfortunately. There would also need to be configurations for other HOTAS manufacturers.

Still not played Beta 2 for more than 10 mins, happy to support by paying the £15 but really want the game to be totally fresh.

he is but the guy clearly has talent. Looks fantastic though - I honestly think we can get him on dragons den when it's finished ;)

Agreed. It's amazing the effort and skill he's put into creating some of his setups. There's definitely a market for bespoke gaming chair/desktop setups like what he's making.

Personally I'd really like to be able to buy something like the emperor chair OCUK sell but at a slightly more realistic price point!

You think you have it bad. My desk at work looks out over the emeperor chair and the Empress system. So it's not just an image on a website, it is a physical thing, There, in front of me. If I had a Rift, it would be ok, but I don't. Yet.
