Evening all, have just completed a clean install of windows 7. Went to the nvidia website and updated my drivers and restarted the comp I get the windows log in sigh the. Two grey/black screens. Have done this twice now...any ideas? It's an nvidia 680.

Have you tried rolling back the drivers?

My 970 black screens for about 2 seconds when i log In to windows, also black screens when i open a app on desktop, tried removing CPU overclocked but no difference, updates drivers no difference.

I think it's a driver issue tbh

I have had a problem the past few updates with my revo running Nvidia ion
it wont run any of them it just crashes just after boot.
had to go back to a driver from may 2014 for it to run

Ive had this a lot, also sometimes the screen goes black and its like the card is reinstalling the drivers again. The res goes huge then flips back again and I also get the windows sounds like ive just plugged in a usb device.

Not had any trouble gaming yet thou, annoying more than anything as it keeps moving my shortcuts on desktop :(

It's defo not a driver issue. I've just installed a 680 with a fresh install of W7 with the latest drivers and no problems at all. Your problem lies elsewhere. If your machines overclocked i'd suggest setting it back to optimised defaults, also make sure all your W7 updates are up to date.

The bios on my GA-Z68XP-UD3 is up to date but I cant see any more bios updates coming for it tbh, last one was in 2013

That mobo is nearly 3 years old but I would still expect them to release a new BIOS for compatibility with the new nVidia cards.

Ok so I have qflashed my bios to newest for my mb. Redownloaded the newest nvidia drivers, on restarting I get the Microsoft logo the. My second screen pings into life and both go grey/black. So no progress yet.

So any advice guys? All I want is for the gfx card to recognise the second screen.
