Terminator franchise reboot

Matt Smith (usless hipster) plus a terminator reboot means more 12A rated **** shovelled out to further fill the coffers of a movie industry that doesn't give a single flying **** about the original material they're *******ising.

Good question, I may have got it wrong… it may have been on BBC4. Wish I recorded it but I'm pretty sure the guy who presented it was Christopher Meyer.

He was out in LA with Universal and talking to the guy who runs the show.

Just read an update on this on IGN. Looks like it's going to be 100% pure ****. Here are the details (sort of spoilery, but will destroy any hope you have that this will actually be good):
One of the more notable changes involves Sarah Connor, now played by Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke. Whereas the character used to be an innocent bystander-turned hardened fighter in Terminator 2, she's now an orphan who's been raised by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen,” Ellison said. “But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, ‘That’s not what I want to do.’ It’s her decision that drives the story in a very different direction.”
 
Woah. How does that even work? Even with the time travel element of the franchise, I can't think of a way this can be without ignoring the first two Linda Hamilton films.

I adore the first two films and quite like the Sarah Conner Chronicles (Summer Glau.... :p) but this just sounds stupid beyond belief.
 
What the hell Matt Smith is doing there I dont know, he has to be the least likely looking Resistance fighter I think I have ever seen. Looks as idiotic as the muppets Beaker wearing combat armour and carrying an assault rifle.

Tt sink it completely and utterly, how did they seriously come up with this kack?

I still cant get over the terrible casting, no one looks in place except Arnie, which could have easily played an older "looking" Terminator in a much better role than this.
 
As said, the first two films are amazing, and the TV series was pretty good, if a little patchy. The other films have been appalling.
 
If that ign story is real then how in the hell can anyone involved with the movie actually think its a good idea? It sounds totally retarded. And wtf is the point of a reboot anyway? People have been wanting the future war since the original movie, but if anything they've moved as far as possible from that direction. :rolleyes:
