Which Console? So Confused? Plz no Fanboys

The fact that you're even asking the question shows you have doubts and are uncertain.

Which means regardless of which console you buy, once the novelty wears off you'll want to get rid again.

If I'm honest im not overly impressed with either console at the moment, none of them have any games that have really wowed me, and to be honest I reckon I could have waited before buying either. (Early adopters pay more, have less games, and more bugs, kinks etc in u.i but I have this need to buy on launch lol) Put it this way if I sold both of them I certainly wouldn't miss them, but I'm keeping hold of them as I'll only end up buying them again when a game comes out that I really want whether it be halo 5 or uncharted 4.

I remember me being happier at the launch of Xbox 360 with pgr and PS3 with motor storm than either forza 5 or driveclub.

Yes they're different types of racing games but I found that I got more enjoyment at the time and was wowed more at the time by pgr and motor storm. Both pgr with its graphics at the time and fun racing impressed me, and motorstorm with its track deformation and fun gameplay.

Anyway if you do get a console my advice to you would be just keep hold of it even if you get bored, as you'll only likely pick one up again, and I assume you're selling these consoles after, so therefore losing money? So makes sense to keep hold of them. New consoles are always generally meh for a little while, I think towards the end of 2015 is when we'll really see must have games

All the consoles which I have sold on. I've made money from, not lost. Mostly from the games, but I see where you guys are coming from. May as well buy and keep. I'll dwell into it further, may have to borrow a xbox one and see what that's like.

As you have said yourself you have owned a PS4 but now have a itch for getting one again

My personal choice was the ps4 for two main reasons however i will explain how one of them was not met

i got the ps4 for 1 : Exclusives mainly TLOU and any chance of any future TLOU ( i acctualy got a cheapo second hand ps3 to play it the first time ) and when the ps4 was gaining popularity and a list of games that looked amazing i had to get one

i also got it because in the last generation ( i had both near there launch times and mid way through but the ps3 got water damage :( ) I had a better time with the people on the play station

At the time they were the more mature audience and very few times would you find someone whos fun is ruining other peoples games. where as on 360 i found that the majority of people i found wanted to do that, it seemed to be the " in thing "

I would imagine that this was due to the price differences meaning the majority of younger people who had to save for a long time or parents resented buying them the more expensive thing that did the same thing.(In there minds)

however the tides turned this time and i have noticed a lot of childish acts on the psn this is quite unfortunate but if it is something you can put up with

I would still go for the ps4 but try to join a group aka : ocuk, and play with them as they tend to be of a more mature ( THEY ALL TEND TO BE VERY VERY VERY OLD ) ( i love you all really ) ( you ancient gits )

joking aside ps4 is my personal choice and is no way fan boyish i will probably find myself owning a xbox one at somepoint once one fits into my budget

I don't own either but have played on both.

Xbox controller is a lot better.
Xbox ui is better in general
Live is better than psn
Xbox has the better games

PS has better hardware
1080p

Both are decent.

i have both but if i could only have id chose the one,it might not be as "powerful" but its where I'm having the most fun thats for sure esp with forza horizon 2.both are good consoles so can't go wrong with either.

I have both consoles and I love both consoles. However, if driving games are your thing then the choice is very easy - Xbox One all the way. Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2 are easily the two best console racers on the next gen systems (for now anyway).

Over the last few weeks, or rather since the driveclub farce, I've seriously been considering getting rid of the ps4.

PSN has had major issues since the ps4 has been released, it literally feels like there's always downtime, it had the "hackers attack it" etc. It happened on the ps3 but as online was free it wasn't a major issue, ps plus was worth paying for as the games it offered were decent. Now though we have to pay for ps plus if we want online functionality in games and the service has not improved, and the ps plus games are shocking.

Plus it's been a year now and there hasn't been much change to the u.i in terms of improvements, or features. 2.0 wasn't anything special to be honest for me personally.

Then add to that the fact that most of the exclusives so far have been disappointing for me, games like killzone that were just pretty to look at but generic to play. And while I haven't played it I can just imagine games like The Order 1866 being the same, look great but generic crap to play.

As it stands the only game I'm really looking forward to would be uncharted 4.

I feel as it stands now the xbox one is more solid, plus the exclusives are more appealing, forza horizon 2 is certainly more "solid" than driveclub. At times driveclub looks stunning and leagues ahead of forza horizon 2 but at times it also looks horrific. Whereas forza is consistently the same and decent enough. The icing on the cake is I recently re-instaled driveclub and still to this day I still get server disconnections while playing.

Halo masterchief collection I think is the tipping point for me, the content on that is incredible for anyone a fan of previous halo games.

I think Sony have gotten too complacent, and it will hurt them I think. They've been standing still...While Microsoft seem to be moving at 100mph in terms of trying to improve things and add things. Some would say Microsoft have to be like that given they're behind in sales, but Sony had an opportunity to keep pushing and really demolish microsoft but they've missed their opportunity and the momentum to me has stopped.

The only thing the ps4 has at this point that is putting me in two minds about whether to get rid is the fact multi platform games run slightly better, and I'd prefer playing games like pro evo and gta in their best possible version.

I've been disappointed lately by Driveclub but not enough for me to want to get rid of the console. Unless you're strapped for cash there's really no point in getting rid of it. If I buy a console I keep it until the next one comes out. I see it as a long term investment and I'll buy whatever takes my fancy along the way. It's not worth getting angry about it imo.

Microsoft suffered a huge backlash last year and in fairness to them they are pulling out all the stops to put it right - I think they are succeeding in that. I have been impressed by how they've handled themselves this year and the exclusives currently on offer are great. So much so that they've tipped the balance on whether I buy into it or not. I was in the 'not bothered' camp but I now absolutely want an Xbox One and I've decided to get one shortly after Christmas.

Sony will right all these niggles eventually, I am sure (hope).

Don't get me wrong, it's not just driveclub. I wouldn't get rid of a console because of issues with one game.

And I'd also normally agree with keeping consoles, as what tend to happen if not is you get rid, lose money, then re buy when a game you like releases.

I'm just at a stage now where I can't warrant having more than one console, and at this stage in the short term the xbox one seems the better one to have in some way.

As I said the only niggle I have that seems enough to make me keep the ps4 is the general multi-platform performance difference.

I've said myself that some games don't have much of a difference between them that's noticeable without scrutinising them, but then I see instances like pro evo where the differences were eye opening, honestly the xbox one version (demo) was horrific.

All I'd like from the ps4 at the moment is a proper re-haul of the user interface, I don't like the way it's laid out with the endless scroll, ok they've limited it now (which can be disabled) but the idea of then having to scroll all the way to the right, and then all the way down in the library isn't much better. Plus the the way themes are implemented isn't great.

I'd also like dlna functionality and some solid exclusives. For me personally for the christmas period there's not one big hit. Little big planet 3 will probably be my favorite. This years exclusivity defo goes to the xbox one, the games for me are much more enjoyable.

Exclusivity aside, games like gta v, pro evo, call of duty, far cry 4 etc I'm looking forward to and the thought of playing "inferior" versions puts me off soley having an xbox one...Hmmm decisions, decisions

The PS4 is the superior console without doubt, hardware, more exclusives, PS+, Shareplay etc... You can't argue that the Xbox is a better console because of a racing game haha DriveClub still has potential and hope, just had a bad start on release, thats the developers fault not Sony's. Yeh sure you could argue the PlayStation Network is always down for 'maintenance' and not as stable, but lets remember the console hasnt been out a year yet, and the future of PS4 is only going to improve rapidly.

I don't know how you can say the momentum has stopped when it's selling so well. They're both enjoying healthy sales in retail, MS have done well catching-up so quickly but I don't really see any indication that the PS4 has lost its energy when it comes to sales.

It wasn't just one racing game, the likes of sunset overdrive, halo etc.

While you're right that the ps4 has been out for just under one year, the psn hasn't and it still suffers from the same sort of issues the ps3 had.

While Sony are in a good position in terms of console sales, I feel they aren't out of the water yet. They still have things they need to improve on (plus add to the fact that Sony as a whole company is in serious financial trouble).

When I referred to momentum I wasn't strictly talking sales.

In the same sentence where I said momentum, I mentioned how microsoft have been going all out (100mph) in terms of improvements. My only mention of sales at that point was that some might say they had to deliver on console improvements due to "sales". An anaolgy would be Sony have accelerated off the start line doing 0-60 in 2 seconds and were doing 200mph, while microsoft missed a gear change and hit 60 in 10 seconds, Sony suddenly started to cruise at 80mph, while microsoft have been bouncing off the rev limiter in 6th gear

Sony seem to have stopped the momentum in terms of general improvements to the console. I feel they think they haven't had the need to due to their excellent sales performance. But they in my mind had an opportunity to really destroy microsoft, but they've stalled on decent exclusives, and lack of console improvements for me personally.

It's my opinion, and it's subjective. While I'm not happy, there are probably people really happy with knack, killzone, driveclub etc and love the user interface and shareplay etc and that's fine.

For me personally the best exclusive has been infamous, I got the platinum and thorughly enjoyed it. Multi-platform games aside there's nothing due out that I'm looking forward too aside from Uncharted 4.
