Stuck on building new PC

A 'male' connector represents the penis.

A 'female' connector represents the vigina.

Now ( :p ) I hope I do not have to explain how babies are made!

In the GPU photo, you are holding the correct lead. A red 6+2 male connector in front of the female 8 socket.

This is correct, and you want to... firm but gentle... place that inside.

Same with the female 6 socket next to it. Find the 6 pin male connector for it too. (it looks like it is a 4+2 male connector attached to the same leade as the 6+2)

Hahah, I see what you did there ;) . I'm glad I got them correctly and thanks for the actually LOGICAL explanation of the male and female which I should have figured out by myself but I'm way too nervous now to get everything right :D if you feel my pain.

OK ! so it does boot up, everything lights up but the power buttons and reset are not working so i have to power it on from the mobo.

Help ?

Most probably the power and reset front header pins are simply the wrong way round (plugged into the mobo) - just turn them upside down and all should be good :)

From the pictures it looks like all your pins are in the correct positions, so whichever one's aren't working (that are two pin headers that is) just turn them upside down :)

You need to connect the case switch connectors.

Usually a two pin Female (;)) that goes onto the motherboard pins. Your manual will be able to point out were ( usually by usb sections).

One will say power or PW and the other reset.

Pics help us too. Just reviewed your pics and it's next to sys_fan4 connection. Make sure it matches up on what it shows in the motherboard manual.

at splash screen try pressing f12 then select usb boot device

might need to make usb stick bootable if so use rufus software

Did you extract all the files from disk/iso onto USB drive.

Do not place them within a folder on the drive

do you get the error after the gigabyte splash screen?

What should happen before the install starts is you should see a circle of white dots spinning around.

Then it brings up a screen saying pick your language or something like that.

Well it doesn't have any dots but it has the big Gigabyte thing flash up really fast with some keys at the bottom and then the OS thing. asks me to insert a boot media and restart. sooooo
