I bought something of ebay , its from a business and the item doesn't work, it shows up in my pc but there isn't any space to use, now they don't seem to want to send me a new one out and instead have told me they'll refund me..... half of what the item costs, I told them to go ..... not a chance, inaway I contacted ebay about this, I want to just go to argos and buy one instead so am I within my rights to demand my money back instead of him trying to send another out ?

Have you formatted the drive, lol. Guessing it's a USB drive or something?

If its genuinely doa then no, a partial refund is obviously not acceptable.

ha . in disk management there is no option to do anything, it shows the drive is there but there is no space, no used/used , nothing! all it lets you do is change the drive letter.

not on cheap ish items, this item was free delivery but whats delivery from ocuk? £5?

this is why unless something is a lot cheaper online id rather buy local then I can just go back to the store

Nope you would qualify for free delivery if you link the account to the forum one.

Anyhow I would try partitioning first through cmd - think I fixed my dads SSD using this method. Plenty guides on the tube if you're unsure

If genuinely faulty and if bought in the UK from a business, then you are legally entitled to a full refund.

AFAIK they can't do that.

If in doubt pay with paypal paypal will side with you everytime

Just whack open an eBay case, eBay will refund you full amount, you won't have to return it at your expense
win - full refund for the faulty item

Thanks for your mail and sorry for the trouble.

Would you mind we refund 5 GBP to you? Is it OK? We have lost a lot.Looking forward to your understanding and reply.

hahaha.... ive just contacted ebay

What options do you get when you right click on the drive in disk management?

I had to enable or make active before i could partition.

Also download and run seagate disk tools. This will tell you if the drive is faulty.
