I'm moving into my new place tomorrow and I'm trying to find a decent package, the current tenants have Sky fibre... But I don't want to be restricted every 5 seconds of the day.

So, thoughts?

Virgin isn't available :(

If you want fibre, then who you pick is irrelevant as they all use BT's network. Also, the top packages don't restrict you.

Explain this statement?

Sky, BT or Plusnet would be my recommendations over Talk Talk

I went with PlusNet:

Unlimited Downloads
£3.99 for 6 months then £14.99 for 12 months
£156 line rental saver

£140 quidco cashback

Just looked and their current offer is free fibre for 6 months then £14.99 for 12 months

I agree with this
My talk talk package is capped on speed (my choice)
What I get is exactly the capped speed as my line is capable of more

Talk talk are cheapest and there is no way another could be better

I've never had a situation where my actual speed has been lower than the cap

I don't know but I would imagine that some of these companies employ traffic management and download limits. I'd imagine he thinks TalkTalk don't.
I know Virgin do at peak times, as do BT, SKy claim not too.

Sky don't Traffic manage anything on their packages..

They cap monthly download on their bottom tier package and they block some sites that hold dodgy content but that's only as per other ISP's have been made to do..

I really wouldn't recommend TalkTalk from personal experience. There service is really bad and I'm stuck with them for another 6 months! I'm tempted to pay it off early and go with someone else.

I guess it might be worth stating my use:

I barely watch TV, mainly for background noise if anything
I watch Blu Rays or programs from streams
I download a lot of Steam games and programs, so speed and stability is essential
I game a lot online
I have no use for a landline, NONE.

I average 62mb on fibre day in day out with sky, only at peak time, it may drop to 55mb.

Pay your dosh and make your choice.

PS Talk talk is dire

Talktalk are good if it works. There customer service is dire.

Fibre is great
TV is shocking. Keep 'losing' the sky channels, box is Terribad-slow
