GTX 970 and GTX 980 are great cards, overall performance is up on the 780Ti and Titan Black but at the same time power consumption and heat are way down. There really isn't anything not to like there.

The 970 can be had for £250, and trades blows with the 290X while using almost half the power consumption, think those criticizing the cards are maybe fans of AMD, no real substance to the criticism..

Trades blows with a 290x and cant beat my 290p, read what you're saying man.

Im not saying they're bad cards but they're so damn over-rated.

Like i mentioned earlier people keep calling them beast overclockers and they do nothing special compared to other cards.

It just shows how stupid certain people are to be tricked by the fact that they push stupid core clocks, 1250-1300 to 1450-1550. Which is still not a huge bump.

Look at the %...

its not suprising its a great card, the only down side of it is coil whine but apart from that its a monster of a card for the price, 970 oc is as good as 980 stock

What about those that criticise the other way Boom?

Two way street that ends up like most other threads...

And how many 290's will run at that speed day in day out. It's not exactly straight cut now is it. Most in this forum won't even run those clocks benching. Just because yours does doesn't mean the majority will.

It depends on who owns the cards, is it coincidence that people with high GPU clocks also have high CPU clocks? lol

Who are you guys who judge what people choose to spend their own money on? Are you wives/husbands/parents? If not, give it a rest.

Ranger with his heavily volted, water cooled, and probably a low ambient temp in Norway 290 claiming because one can do it it's better than the majority of air cooled 970's that can hit 1500 on stock volts. Wouldn't even be noticeable in game and will be using probably twice the power to do so at his voltage and clocks.
