My parents may be coming to visit soon and need a wheelchair for my dad in order to go around town etc. He can walk a bit, but anything more than a few minutes will be hard.

They live in India and we don't really use a wheelchair there anymore since you go from point to point in a car. Most attractions and malls provide wheelchairs as well if needed. They could buy a new one there and bring it, but it would be hassle so was looking into possibilities of renting one here.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any place they would recommend? Google came up with this https://www.london-wheelchair-rental.com/ whose prices are fine, but I have no idea as to quality/reputability. Anyone used them or any other place? Any info would be much appreciated!

It probably wouldn't be - all airlines etc will cater very well for wheelchair passengers.

More because they have a couple of flights before the one to London. Plus all the airports etc. have their own wheelchairs, making it unnecessary as well. It's more from a convenience side than a need.

One thing to note, is that you can buy a wheelchair for about £100-150 new if you go to the right places, so if the rental is going to be anything near that you might do better to buy and either hang on to it for future visits, or sell it/donate it to charity :) (IIRC the last one we bought my mum was about £150ish*, and we ended up getting two so we didn't have to keep lifting it out of the car at home).

The red cross certainly have some for loan usually, but I'm not sure how much they charge, or the models.

*Her previous one was bought from an "approved" supplier partly paid for with an NHS voucher, and cost her about £400.
