As the guy above said, this card is the fastest 980 available and if I was buying a 980 I'd want the best and this looks it, the fact it is white is just a bonus if your building a white themed PC. Fact is this is the quickest 980 you can buy!
there is another fact that contribute to the prices though. It is OCuk Exclusive.
That really has no resemblance on our selling price though, look at the Inno3D GTX 980, the only 980 in the UK at sub £400.
But of course we won't be doing crazy deals on HOF cards, Galaxy can't make large numbers due to the clock speeds and the 980 HOF has already pre-sold 23 units, because as already mentioned its not only the fastest GTX 980 out the box but it is probably the best designed and built for overclocking card on the market.

Price hiked? That's cheeky, and annoying. I deliberately held off ordering as these dates are known to slip and I wanted to be sure it was definite to come in for then.

Nothing cheeky about it, when I set these up I still did not have my cost from Galaxy so was taking a good guess. The 970 price was higher than I anticipated and the 970 price will be moving up again as were still making low single digit margin on it at new price. I've held off increasing the price any further in the hope the GBP might strengthen against the USD a little more before our order ships, but right now it just seems to be getting weaker, so the price is only looking to go up.

I've just seen this video of the HOF 980 that was released today. It shows a BLACK backplate? What's going on here, is this just a prototype or something? Supposed to be silver right? Me no likey.
Still, it doesn't look to bad with it, a nice black and white contrast.
Black will work for some people perhaps, but a big attraction for many potential buyers of this card will be for its use in white builds. A black backplate ruins that idea. Silver looks far nicer IMO anyway, really makes it stand out from all the other cards out there. I hope that's what the final card gets, not the black. Black would be a BIG mistake I think... I for one won't buy it if that's the way they go.
