Hi

For christmas im going to buy myself water cooling from the mrs.

I have a 750D case

4770K

Power colour R290X PCS+

Im wanting a custom loop to cool both of these. I will Overclock the cpu once i get this set up also.

This will be my first time watercooling.

Ive no idea what it would cost so as for a budget i don't know.

Can it be done for £200? if not, as cheap as it can without skimping :)

thanks for the help

hmm, more expensive than i thought.

so lets say ignore the £200 budget.

to cool both without B grade (i cant do 2nd hand, i have to be the one who break them seals!)

without going overboard.

Also the colour scheme is red and black, so if stuff comes in them colours that would be great :)

Watercooling in your spare time over Christmas :) Superb. I remember when I first built my watercooling set up around 7 years ago it was over Christmas time. Good fun!

If you go 2nd hand, you can do it cheaply, but you'll need to be patient and look around on the OCUK clearance section, eBay and the OCUK members market.

I've picked up:
2 bay res/pump - £35
tubing, fittings and triple rad - £55
quad rad - £30
7970 block and back plate - £40

All I need now is the CPU cooler and the liquid. I want a specific CPU block and none are coming up regularly for sale, I might have to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

You can save loads if you are not fussy about the parts you get and go for de-ionized water as the fluid.

I've no idea :p

which is best?
Will one triple rad cool everything ok?

cpu and one gpu yes 1 360 will be fine, how ever the more the better.

any res is ok it just hold fluid but i dont like bay pumps they can make a lot of noise ever the good ones. its all down to the balancing of the pump.
i have 3 DDC's two are silent one is like a jack hammer. you can put a DDC on a foam pal and kill the sound but in a bay it shakes the case.

Lancing of a pump?.

Rough estimates of cooling power needed;
4770k -84w
290x - 290w

Assuming you're going to overclock let's add 20%(conservative maybe) 448w. Any 360 rad will do that with fans ~ 1200 rpm.

I have a DDC in a bay red in my 900D. However it's on a fan controller but even at full pelt it's no lounder than a fan from my experience.
