I recently got a GTX970 and have been messing about with the 3D on it with some oldskool red/blue glasses on my normal monitor.
I am after getting a new tv for about £400-£500 and thought I might as well get one that has 3D capabilities to play through a few single player games now and again and was wondering if I should be looking for active or passive 3D?
I was also wondering if any of you had any experience of hooking your pc up to a big tv to play a few games like Batman or Trine 2?

Thanks :)

Sony are suppose to be very good with less lag which will give you a smooth gaming experience if you look at a couple of Sony reviews on there TV's. But only thing is there little more expensive with 3D. Then Samsung

Somebody with more knowledge then myself may point you in the right direction. With your budget. I don't think the Sony 7 series have 3D i know the 8 series does but for a 42" i think its around £560 Another thing im not sure if you can connect your pc to the Sony range.

Passive and Active depends on you really I think. Active uses a shutter effect with the lenses I think while the passive uses polarization (like what you have at the cinema) so if your very sensitive to flickering passive might be better for you. Also the cost of the glasses, active ones cost in the region of £20-£50 per pair and the passive around £10-30.
I've got a 3D bravia which uses passive glasses. Haven't used them in the past 6 months.
