Brazilian Grand Prix 2014, São Paulo - Race 18/19

Any pictures of the pit exit & Senna S? This is the last picture I seen, I wonder what they're doing with it.

Jenson's been posting a few nostalgic F1 videos and tweets on his Twitter account past few days, does indeed look like a sign that he knows it's his last year in F1. Anyway, thought this was relevant, I've never seen it before, an onboard pov from Jenson's car, what a battle between himself and Hamilton. Looks so much better onboard than the normal feed. Enjoy!

edit - oh and dem v8s :D

2012 must still be such a huge regret for McLaren. It was a really good car, but the race management and pit stops were dreadful. JB drove really well, but if Lewis had been more settled then he would have had a great chance of the championship.

It does seem that Jenson's time in F1 is drawing to a close this year. For all his limitations (and strengths) I think he had a really good career. He managed to get over the early rookie years, when team owners had more patience than today, and when his chance came he took it and got his championship. He had a good battle with Lewis at McLaren, and although Lewis wasn't at his best he certainly made the most of it and exploited his team mate's weakness when it appeared.

He was never the fastest around one lap and, despite what many think, I don't think he was hugely better in wet conditions either. But he does have a really good feel for the car as the track evolves, and has made some really good calls in the past in changing weather. I wish he could have had a better result at Silverstone, but some things are not meant to be. But, he does love cake :)

I met him at Barcelona a couple of times this year (as the nominated owner of PapaSmurf for the weekend!) and he was great. Many, especially here, will always talk about balance but he comes across as a great guy and in the latter years of his F1 career he has been a great ambassador and servant for F1.

A few good memories of JB as I've seen him - please forgive the nostalgia of one of my favourite drivers:

Back on the race, I'm really looking forward to Brazil. It rarely disappoints, and no matter what the outcome it can only serve up a nerve-wracking season finale in Abu Dhabi. With the Mercedes seemingly able to guarantee a top two finish unless there's a mechanical failure, I hope Lewis and Nico don't clash on the track here. The Red Bull's feel like they could be strong here, with their corner exit speed they should really be able to capitalise on turn three and the penultimate corner.

(OT slightly) I will be sad to see JB bow out of F1.... Mostly because there are so many worse drivers who still have a seat (including his team mate!).... Despite being a Hamilton fan, I cannot argue that JB kept him more than honest during his Mclaren days (I thought Ham would blow Button away but it didn't happen). Jenson is a great racer and a good thinker inside the cockpit.. His one 'problem' has been his lack of blistering pace in qualifying which has probably meant he has 'on average' been starting in a worse grid position than he should have been.

Other than that he has been a top guy, always happy to do an interview (even if he hasn't had a good race!) and rarely sulking or being moody.... Apparently during his 'stint' as WDC he put his heart in to doing all he could to promote the sport and keep sponsors happy etc.

People talk about sportsmen as being 'role models' but I really feel JB has done his utmost in all aspects of being a 'high-profile' figure in the sport... He will be missed.

JB is probably what I would class as one of the last "honest lads" in F1. The rest are now all so PR brainwashed you can't really get behind any of them

? Lewis had a fantastic year in 2012 and would have walked away with the championship had it not been for reliability issues. If you correct the positions from when he retired in the lead due to mechanical failures he would have been crowned with at least two races to go.

Jenson is a fantastic ambassador for F1 and a dream for PR ans sponsors. His media appearances feel genuine and natural too, rather than an awkward forced uncomfortable experience.

When he stops driving he will move to F1 media, I'm pretty sure of it. Although I doubt he will stop driving totally... his fitness and consistency will be an asset to an endurance racing team. Its a shame neither McLaren or Honda have expressed an interest in WEC... yet.

I like JB , I just like winding SMR up even more :p

Would be sad to see him go. How long is massa's contract with Williams?

Massa usually goes well here. Would be nice for Williams to somehow pull a win out of the bag.

I'm not gonna put any money on it though..... :D

Oh how things change... ;)

Assuming they are right yes, ironically they were adamant about Alonso moving to Mclaren and that a deal had been inked... so it stands to reason that they shouldn't be taken seriously about their last tweet... but why on Earth would you delete your Twitter account unless you knew it was confirmed that Alonso isn't joining Mclaren?

Porche denying talks with Button: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/116623

Also the Twitter page has been hidden and/or deleted. Weird!

I love Button, been a fan of his for a long time. He is one of the best wheel to wheel racers along with Alonso and now Hamilton has sorted himself out he fits in the same category too. Clean, exciting and fair racing from all those guys stand out in my memories for F1 more than anything. He deserves more years in F1 yet much like Barrichello drove for so long.

Hell, Jenson would be hired to my team just for Canada 2011 alone. I've never been so vocial whilst watching TV!

Plot thickens, Porche confirming that they already have their line up sorted for next year too... :o
