Chappie (Neill Blomkamp, Hugh Jackman, and Die Antwoord)

District 9 was awesome, but Elysium was awful. This looks cool, but I just can't stand him continuing to use Afrikaans actors, the accent is terrible. He went overboard with the Afrikaans stuff in Elysium, the bad guy was like a parody of Afrikaners. The robot name is dumb too, that is the name of a bubblegum in South Africa.
 
I like Blomkamp's films. District 9 (2009) was exceptional, in my opinion, and Elysium (2013) is a very interesting film :).

Looking forward to this.
 
When I watched the trailer yesterday I knew the robot looked familiar; turns out this short I saw about 10 years ago (while living in SA, funnily enough) was by Blomkamp. I had no idea it was also his work.


Also explains the 'Tetra Vaal' logo on the side of the van at the end of the trailer.
 
I really like the look of this and District 9 was a great film. If this is remotely similar, its going to be a superb hit!

Well he's South African and the film is set in South Africa, so expect quite a few Afrikaans accents!
