I always wanted the Astra MK3 GSI.

They all looked so menacing and purposeful! Both the ST185 and ST205. Not to mention that you could walk into a dealership and buy one! Now all you have is the GT86

Thought this might be more about road going heros rather than track day ones.

The ST185 is my all time Rally hero, the Celica's used to just pulverise the Safari rally, what a race that used to be!

The dream for as long as I can remember has been a 911.
The main problem for me is that if I go back as far as the 930 911 of the 80's (turbo excluded), which is where the love started, I can get just about the same performance from my S2000 which has really put me off a "classic" 911. I can't imagine a car as old as me is going to be particularly reliable!
A Ferrari testarossa would be the other hero. I'd need to work on my moustache though.
EDIT: I used to have a RC Escort Cosworth, so that's definitely up there too

Lies! Ferrari sold around 1,300 F40s. 349 F50s were sold.

ALways hankered after porsches as a kid. We had a school book club and i seem to remember getting Porsche book at the age of 7.. SO it'd have to be last of the air cooled turbo's for me - 933 turbo. I love the jaguar AJ220 - saw one at the Haynes museum only last year, first time in the flesh, and it cemented the idea in my head that i want one.
Always been a fan of rally cars, a original s1 quattro - for which i saw a load of when i got my tt serviced @ dialynx , and they still blow me away - that front louvre, the swb, the stance - its a iconic hero !
Id also love a Evo VI Tommi Makkinen. And a p1.
