*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I finally had some RNG luck last night (much to my fireteams annoyance! :D)

Helping out a friend on the level 22 Weekly heroic the first enemy dropped a lovely Legendary engram for me.... turned into the Comedian. Gun is pretty meh but useful for energies etc.

Then on a level 12 heroic mission to complete a bounty I got around 4 blue engram drops. Not amazing in isolation but one turned into a legendary helmet for my hunter (which only had a rare helmet) - result!

The strike which I had not played before has now been completed 3 times in two days. Our main fireteam (Nightfall one) is going to replay the level 28 Heroic tonight. Running with one chap who is level 20 on the level 22 version was interesting. Up until the final boss he was fine, at the final boss though he struggled a bit (the damage modifiers for being underlevelled really hit him hard at that point).

Yesterday's Daily heroic was a nice easy one again (the Array). My Icebreaker was tearing every hive enemy apart. Quick and easy ascendant materials!

That feeling when you spawn in to the nightfall after getting an invite off of LFG, only for them to kill the boss 10 seconds later. That was pretty awesome

Whilst we're on the question on joining mid-mission; how do you do it on Xbox One?

Call me thick but I look at the friends list and all I have is invite to fireteam. I wasn't even in a party chat and someone from my friend list joined me - I have my game open to people on friends list.

Be useful to know as last time I had to wait for Fireteam leader to hide from fire just to invite me. Minor but still an annoyance no doubt.

Look at the person's profile on your friends list (dashboard). There's a join option and you can usually choose Party, Game or Party & Game. That's how I do it anyway. There isn't, as far as I know, an option to join a fireteam within Destiny.

Whoever Facebaker is on here, sorry that you got kicked last night! It was my brother's fireteam and we had no idea who you were when you joined so he kicked you, it wasn't until after the raid I realized you were on my friends list =(

and it means using the XB1 home page and system which is just so slow and appalling it is painful.

I've tried using Xbox Snap Friends, that works quicker if you've got a kinect.

I'm sure I've tried doing that before, so I'll give it another go as I'm certain that open was greyed out. Will update again.

Can't you just select the friend from the roster within Destiny and select join fire team? That's what I do on the PS4.

As long as the fireteam isn't full you should join on them.

The best way to do it is by snapping xbox party (if you're in party chat with them).

You can then go down the list, find the person and select them, that will then give the option to join game.

Saves having to go out to the homepage too.

No problems, it was probably a bit too late for me to be doing VOG any hows.
If anyone is up for VOG on Normal on Friday then I should be good to go from 20:00 ish (LV 27 hunter but will definitely be 28 by Friday).

Don't recall ever seeing that option on XBO.

I often do this if already in a party with the person.

Aye, I've done that before and the 'join' bit is greyed out... (Tried joining you and Rob a couple nights ago that way)

Not sure if this might be a bug with the preview dashboard. I know I'm in the preview program and read this this is a known issue.

What happens when you press the button which brings up your character screen (where you can change guns etc) and hit left shoulder button (L1 on PS4)?

Do you not have the roster option? I can't think why the option wouldn't be there.
