Voice your opposition to the Israeli actions for the past 65+ years

Just been reading up how US veto'd the UN resolution against recent israeli illegal settlement expansions:

http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/meast/02/18/un.israel.settlements/

Since the end of the siege of Gaza the Israeli Army has now focused on Jerusalem, it seems everyday that the IDF are now trying to take over jerusalem with recent votes to claim Masjid Al-Aqsa as a jewish only sanctuary (it is sacred to all three abrahamic faiths and not just judaism - aka The Dome of the Rock)

The IDF are regularly storming it - escorting extremist Israeli personnel to the site and evicting any non-jews. I think it was only last week they stopped all muslims from entering the third most sacred site in Islam

Over here the western media has hardly mentioned it!!

So how come I read about it on the BBC at the weekend and you've linked to CNN about it?

The weekend? It's been ongoing for over 3 weeks now

Anyway - in the meantime the ICC also ruled Israel comitted a war crime on an aid flotilla bound for Gaza but for some reason is not going to prosecute - WHAT?

The International Criminal Court has said it will not prosecute Israel for its lethal assault on an aid flotilla bound for Gaza, despite concluding it believes that war crimes were committed. This decision has been called into question by the Counsel for the Government of the Comoros, which brought the case before the ICC.

The Counsel for the Government of Comoros, said: ‘The Prosecutor’s decision marks the first time a State referral by an ICC States Party has ever been rejected by the Office of the Prosecutor without even initiating an investigation.

Literally getting away with murder - so much for the ICC being just and fair....

Most international agencies are firmly in the US' back pocket so it's not all surprising that they'll turn a blind eye where its allies are concerned.

No voicing opposition to Palestinians running over women and children, kinda typical of the one-sidedness of the forum.
Pretty sure this crack down on security is because a jewish man was shot by a muslim for protesting his right to pray at his holy site?

What about the rights of the Palestinians that Israel completely ignore, not to mention the numerous times they have broken international law.

Funny - running over children especially ones in wheelchairs is often a settler crime unlike what you claim - it's seems to be a monthly 'settler' occasion:

Two 5 year old girls run over by a settler (1 killed):
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/n...2-palestinian-children-in-west-bank-killing-1

Wheelchair bound 13 year old girl run over by a settler recently too, hell even Subaru used a picture of a palestinian kid being run over by a car for one of their advertisements - thats how bad it is there!

The Palestinian Government Media Center called on Subaru Israel to take action against an advertisement which uses a picture of Palestinian children being hit by a car in an incident which attracted wide condemnation in October 2010, involving a prominent settler who deliberately ran them down. It is not clear whether this is a genuine advertisement or whether someone is making use of the Subaru logo. The PGMC has asked the company to take action to prevent any further display of this image under its name.

The PGMC wrote to Subaru: “It has come to our attention that someone made a horrible use of a picture showing an Israeli settler running over two Palestinian children in East Jerusalem. The picture was used as a commercial ad to promote Subaru cars, it included Subaru logo and a slogan saying: “Let see who can stand in front of us”.

Absolutely right bud: http://www.palestinecampaign.org/media-wont-tell-east-jerusalem/

What the media won't tell you about East Jerusalem:
Palestinians in East Jerusalem live their daily lives under the brutality of Israeli occupation. However, their suffering is ignored by most of the western media.

Last week, western journalists turned their focus on Jerusalem only because an Israeli settler, Yehuda Glick, was shot and injured near the Old City on October 29th.

However, violence against Palestinians is a constant feature of life in East Jerusalem and it goes unreported by our media.

Palestinians in East Jerusalem face expulsion from the city, home demolitions, freedom of movement restrictions, surveillance, and violence from settlers and soldiers. This is in addition to illegal settlement building on their land.

It is through measures such as these – all violations of international law – that Israel is attempting to ethnically cleanse East Jerusalem of its Palestinian population. Israel’s stated goal is to establish and maintain the whole of Jerusalem as its capital.

On October 23rd, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement reiterating this, saying: ‘United Jerusalem, was, and will always remain, the capital of Israel.’ He called for Israeli sovereignty to be enforced in all parts of Jerusalem through the deployment of extra troops.

This page is the perfect example of why this issue just rumbles on and on, both here and on the international stage. There is no mediator, just one side versus the other, both with their stories of woe and justifications with absolutely no interest in finding a middle ground.

i think it more clearly shows that no one else really gives a **** except the two relatively unimportant sides.

If they didnt give a 'whatever you call it' then why do the US and other western nations fund and support the israeli's still?......

Oh Zoomee

How your silence is deafening on this one

Stop talking rubbish. Just because western media has finally decided to pay attention to the rising tension over there (only because a jew died this time) - you think I don't know? I warned you guys about this rising tension over a week or two ago (see my post on the last page) but you didn't pay attention Rob mundy until an jew got killed. When it involves muslims dying then funnily enough your not interested are you?

A palestinian bus driver was murdered this week too - I didn't report that here either. He was beaten up, then hung and Israel claimed he had commit suicide - An autopsy proved he was violently beaten before being hung.

Anther Palestinian kid was killed - I didn't report that here either.

One Israeli dies and its all over the western media, yet they turn a blind eye when all these palestinians are murdered, burnt alive, mown down etc. on a daily basis.

The tension in Jerusalem has been rising ever since the IDF decided to storm and take over the Al-aqsa mosque (considered to be the most Holy site in palestine) - A mosque was also burnt down last week too. Didn't see no western media here reporting it.

As soon as it involves a 'poor israeli' it's splashed about all over the place so Israel can play the 'we are the oppressed not the oppressor' card. Its pathetic just like your post.

The BBC News online headline article today was 'Bloody attack at Jerusalem synagogue' featuring a report, analysis by a correspondent, a picture blog, and a live blog containing updates every few minutes.

Examples of the pictures used in the report and photo blog seemed to have been selected to bring out a strong emotive response amongst the audience. They included the bloodied prayer shawls of the victims, and images of what the BBC alleged were Palestinians celebrating the attack.

In contrast, recent reports on Palestinian victims of Israeli violence were muted:

* Palestinian bus driver, Hassan Yousef Al Ramouni, believed to have been lynched by Israeli settlers had not been mentioned at all by the BBC until the attack on the synagogue, where it was mentioned only in reference to a Hamas statement on the synagogue attack. AFP and major Israeli outlets reported Hassan's death.

* On November 11th, the BBC reported the killing of 22-year-old Imad Jawabreh using quotation marks around 'shot dead by Israeli army' as if there was any conflicting report over who had shot Jawabreh.

By the fourth paragraph of the report, there was mention of attacks against an Israeli soldier and civilians in an attempt to contextualise the killing. By contrast, the article on the synagogue attack contains no reference to killings of Palestinians by Israelis.

Unlike the story on the synagogue attack, there is no live blog and no use of evocative imagery, instead a generic image of an Israeli jeep is used.

* The BBC only reported on the killing of Khayr al-Din Hamdan, shot dead by Israeli police while his back was turned once. The incident was caught on camera, but the BBC has not followed up on this clear example of police brutality.

Look, I don't think many people think Palestinians are lesser than Jews. There is some pro-Israeli bias in the Western Media but that's because the Israeli are "closer" to us in terms of culture, which is the most important factor that can cause bias when an opinion is expressed or a report is made. The Israeli are connected to the Western world through tourism, technology, important companies, not to mention the Jews spread all over the world.

Before hoping to gain anything in this conflict, the Palestinians have to show the world there's more to them than suicide bombers and throwing rocks.
