corsair fans - chickens teeth

Why don't you just buy the regular high speed versions and set them to run at a maximum 1450rpm like the quiet edition with fan profiling software?

I have two of the 2350rpm SP120's on my Megahelems CPU cooler doing just that and they're incredibly quiet.

Pretty sure they're identical in every way except the maximum rated speeds.

All you need to do is create a custom fan curve and the fans would be far quieter. When I was running mine, it was idle at 400-500rpm and load was 900rpm.

I've a black and red theme with the rog mobo and MSI gpu so I wanted the red to "brighten" up the top of the case so there wasn't just a black looking void where the radiator is on the roof of my 600t case.

Can someone advise me on how to use the fan software? Is it something I control in the mobo or dedicated software? Still getting used to the h100 so not 100% sure where to start with profiles

I'll look into the fans that cooper mentioned but I wouldn't know how to reduce the fan speed :/

if you have an Asus board like mine, you should be able to install Asus AI suite which has fan control software like I do, here it is running my CPU fans at 1450RPM, i could set them lower but they are so nice and quiet there's no need.

Do you need 4 pin fans for that functionality?

Cooper would I get that software from their site? Any links?

The mobo and cpu were 2nd hand and no discs with it.

Just enter your OS and it will bring up a list of drivers and software, click on 'Utilities' and it's the first download

You can control 3 pin fans but you will only have limited ability to control their speed, basically one setting up to their maximum speed.

These SP 120mm fans are like chickens teeth :(

When will they be in?

I need them to replace the stock fans I've got but OCUK hasn't had them in for a while :/

bit of a disappointment when a well known notoriously expensive retail park electronic firm have them in stock for a similiar price and have had them for a while. They have the blue ones in dual and red ones in single. I bought the red one few weeks ago.

Tbh the Ai suite software is very poor. Fan control is ok but the rest is a bit problematic. I found it to cause usb connection dropout with a new mechanical keyboard. I found the standard bios fan profiles to be good. But now as I run 9 case fans I use an akasa fc6 controller.

The colour rings are interchangeable. You get Blue, Red and White rings in the box. ;)

Just found out that I've got the Rampage Extreme IV board, I take it that CPUz is fairly reliable at identifying the board?

Sockets all seem to be the same for an extreme board over the formula one.

Is this right?
