what is the difference between the asus rampage v extreme 2011-3 and the asus rampage iv extreme bla

Different Chipsets.

The Black is X79 (ivybridge-E) and the V is X99 (haswell-e).

Haswell-E chips (5820k,5930k, 5980X) will only work on X99 boards (they will not work with X79 boards).

The only other difference i can see is the X99 has improved auido output.

It'd be silly not togo for the X99..

theres no green x99 mb :(

would it be possible to spray the red bits ont he rampage v extreme
 
It would, but why risk such a high price motherboard. You'd have to ensure you have the bits of the board you don't want to spray covered and still non static. There's motherboards for half the price around £160 that you can do this with. Or just change your colour scheme? I don't think you need a 'green' motherboard to have a green system, just a black one.

theres the evga classified x99 mb i seen on projectskunkworks he just sprayed the E on the mb black and it looked fine but whats the main difference between that mb and the ramage v extreme as i see everyone using the v extreme
