Gatwick Parking (with a slight twist)

Guys need help for those that know the area.

I'm dropping off the mrs at the Premier Inn at Gatwick North terminal tomorrow evening and hoping to stay for some dinner before heading home. I phoned the hotel earlier and they said that there's no parking at the hotel but I can park in the short stay carpark for 3 hours at a cost of £12

Do any of you knowledgeable folk know if this is correct, and if there's somewhere closeby that's cheaper to park? Alternatively if there's somewhere better to eat nearby that would be great too?

For ease I'd go to The Dukes head pub. Food is good and 5 minutes from Gatwick.

Don't park there and do that, take a drive out. The dukes head is good as above, the Six Bells is a little closer and nice.

Lots of places to eat at the Cineworld also (and free parking), or maybe bowling then hit the gym after if you wanted!

What happened with the Hotel? Only stayed there once but it was trouble free.

Mrs was dropped at the hotel after dinner, no payment required for parking.

I had lamb rump avec veg and the Mrs had a rare ribeye steak. Not a cheap place but tasty. Weather was awful too.
