I should have stayed away, although being drunk at least lessened the rage (also the embarrassment at being so bad)!
 
Gave it a go again today because of that free 1000g from yesterday but don't think i'm digging the new maps and changes to old ones. All the matches seem to be over really quickly.

You are bang on. WG seem to have made a firm decision to move the game towards a brawling meta.

Fewer and fewer "sniping" positions, lines of sight being nerfed. More and more city maps.

Shame really, I'd love to see their new user rates 'vs' lifetime of user.
 
I had my first 50 games for over a month yesterday.

Does Noobmeter have problems at the moment?
Only reason I ask as the 58 games I played yesterday show me as having a WN8 of 354, WOTLabs shows my WN8 as 1190 for the same 58 games.
Granted I had some lag issues and am a bit rusty after being away but 1190 is a lot more believable than 354 as I'm not that bad, I thought I had some acceptable games.

The new KV-85 (new for me, I haven't played it since it was introduced) is pretty good with the 100mm, it's very much like a heavy medium which is good fun to play.

The cent was a bit of a shock for me as well. My progress with it taught me that:

1) The camo is shocking -it is NOT a med w.r.t. camo
2) The top gun is great
3) You need 6th sense
4) It is all about the gun - the rest of the tank is all about getting the gun in the right position which is at ~300m behind a bush.
5) It is agile, not mobile

7/1 is v.similar but has a much better top turret.
 
Agree with the above, once you get to know the play style of the Centurion it's a great tank.

Like has been said, it's not a stealthy or particularly fast and the hull is like paper but the turret is quite good frontally, it accelerates fast, turns quickly and the gun is very good. It's my first (and currently only) tier 8 tank.

I may play it a bit too aggressively as I don't like to stay 300m away in a bush :p but with the maneuverability, the ability to out accelerate most things and an accurate, quick aiming gun it's good at peeking around cover, firing and getting back in cover before the enemy can turn to fire.

I found the cause of my lag, USB WiFi dongles, tried two and both lag in WoT, a Cat5 cable to the router works perfectly which was a relief. I already have a powerline Ethernet network for the Sky box so just bought another powerline ethernet adapter which should do the job nicely.

Yesterday all my x5 xp games were dog poo, today I get this. Something's not right with WoT, this is unheard of...

What tree do you guys think I should go down next?

I have the British, American and Russian ones well on the go and am debating between the Chinese and Japanese.

In general I get the impression...
Chinese = good speed and armour but bad gun depression.
Japanese = Good guns, bad armour.

Maybe I should rephrase that, which is the most enjoyable? :)

The Japanese med tanks also tend to have great gun dep. But they only really get fun at the sta1. The chi-ri is bloody awful. Nice line though I've enjoyed it. Only 20k away from the stb1 and I can't wait to get some turret armour.

The Chi Ri is amazing! I love that tank. I haven't disliked any Japanese tank yet, although I do get that they're quite hard to use and are made of cardboard.
 
The Cent is okish, but not much fun for me.
Just been using the T49 with the gun launcher, how do people find it fun i find it a real pain.
Anyone else tried it?
