Brazilian Grand Prix 2014, São Paulo - Race 18/19

See...i cant have a bit of fun but no one tells the button bashers to stop commenting crap?

Pot kettle?!

Lost 9 seconds in a half spin.
Finished 1.4s down, slowed down by a second in the last sector on the last lap.
Other than that spin, was faster throughout. Oh, and fastest lap of 1:13.555 for Hamilton too.

I agree that Lewis is fundamentally faster than Nico but, in this particular case, he did have the benefit of the DRS tow pretty consistently whilst following Rosberg.

Correct me if I'm wrong but he just has to come 2nd, not higher. P1 would just be a bonus. Even if Rosberg wins the race, he has to hope Lewis comes lower than 2nd for Rosberg to win the WDC. That's my understanding anyway.

Those are to confirm the championship regardless of what Rosberg does.

There's a number of other options depending on where Rosberg finishes, but I can't be bothered to calculate them all :p

Rubbish. Lewis gained on him without tow or drs and then got stuck in the dirty/turbulent air.

Ha love winding you hammy bum boy chumps thats all...

Didnt drunkenmaster say rosberg cant beat ham in a straight fight?

The butt hurt is strong in this thread now. Brilliant. Well done Rosberg! :D

That sort of childish attitude is exactly what i was getting at earlier in this thread, well done smr first person to make it to my ignore list.

Back on topic, decent race, Nico was on it all weekend, kept it cool and did a great job, didnt think it would be as easy for Lewis this weekend, the one real chance Lewis had, he let it slip, took too much from the tires and they bit back.
he may have been comforatbly quicker through the race but there just wasnt enough pace to take it in the end.
oh well its the next race that counts, hopefully its another close one.

Yep, so basically Hamilton is world champion. No-one can match the Mercs at the moments.

Cant handle a bit of banter. Must be fun on a night out.

DRS on the Merc isn't great, wasn't great last year either. It's a faster engine but has struggled to get past Williams and the other Merc car all year and the straights here aren't great for DRS nor late braking. But ultimately being in dirty air is difficult and at higher temp tracks the penalty is higher. The main issue is the dirty air from car in front causing less good traction out of the corners onto the straights, if a Merc engine in any car gets better traction drs isn't going to do much unfortunately.

The other issue is in normal situations Hamilton saves fuel significantly while match Rosberg's pace using more fuel, he gets faster as the race goes on as he has more spare fuel. After his spin he and Rosberg were using the same fuel amount Hamilton was using more than usual to catch up, but then it's pretty obvious the spin ruined his race.

WOuld have been interesting to see the race on hard/medium combo, up and down the grid I think we'd have seen more pushing particularly early in the race, thanks Massa.

Again, Kimi's engineer deciding to do a fewer stop and ultimately slower pace strategy.... will someone tell Kimi or his engineer, or both, to do the extra stop and actually drive god damned fast.

Just being paranoid here :p but it worried me as to how "tense" and "difficult" the last race will be according to Wolf and Lauda......

Why will it? Unless they have technical issues, Lewis is under no pressure from Nico as he can simply finish second and still win the title. they are nearly a second a lap faster than anyone else in the field so it seems a bit odd as to why it will be so difficult for them..

Hopefully they are just hamming it up for the cameras.

Rosberg did well to keep Hamilton honest and come the last laps Hamilton didn't have the tyres to do anything to challenge but just chase instead.

This should be Hamiltons championship but of course anything could happen in two weeks. Glad to have an interesting end tbh.

I don't see what's so confusing. If Lewis comes 2nd, that's the WDC in his bag. He doesn't NEED to come higher to win the WDC.

I know!! I was laughing at you thinking that the other guy had said something different! This is hilarious.
