MSI GS60 3K backlight bleed

Hi everyone, got my MSI GS60 2QE 3K Pro and I was very happy with it bar a few minor things. However, today I noticed some questionable amounts of backlight bleed and it's making me think about replacing it. I'm attaching some photos(taken with my Galaxy S5).

The first one is taken in a complete dark environment, while the next 2 in moderate lighting. To be honest, at least the first picture is even exaggerated a bit compared to the naked eye.
I would really like to know what people who have had experience with IPS screens think about this, if it's normal and common for all IPS screens or if it's too much.

I've never seen anything like that on my VAIO IPS display :-/

My GS70 does have some light bleed but it's concentrated down the right side and is nowhere near as bad as yours. If it's affecting your usage/enjoyment I'd return it.

Hi guys

I just spoke to the tech guys in HQ, and they have responded the following :

"It is similar to the symptom of “Mura”, but only in a complete dark room it would appear. And actually it doesn't affect the panel performance in usage.

The panel provider uses a “ND filter” to judge such symptom can pass or fail quality test before shipment.
"

Basically guys, if this is affecting your performance then we can definitely look at it for you. Apparently backlight bleed is common but does not affect the unit in any way performance wise.

I'm not sure what you mean by affecting the panel's performance, but it certainly affects the user experience.
It is not only noticeable in a complete dark room, on a black background it is noticeable even in a well lit room. This is annoying when watching movies, playing dark games, etc.
I have already spoken to the support team and I'm going to arrange a repair/replacement. This really bothers me and I honestly hope that after waiting 2 weeks or so for the repair, I won't get an answer such as: "oh we've checked it but it's completely normal and no repairs/replacements have been done". That would really disappoint me and make me never want to do business with MSI again.

Is this caused by the chassis bezel pressing on the screen, not the screen itself? In which case, it will be total hit and miss if the replacement if that's what's offered its actually better or even worse. In most applications during the day you would not even notice it, but like you say at night/dark scenes it will be prevalent. If this is acceptable, 'flaw' by the manufacturer, then I would be replacing with another brand as that's simply not an acceptable response. QC need to take a lot more care IMO.
