Brazilian Grand Prix 2014, São Paulo - Race 18/19

I can guarantee that spearing Rosberg off the road will have crossed Hamiltons mind many times by the time the lights go out in Abu Dhabi.

With all other cars being so far behind the leaders and Williams being so conservative by not ceasing the opportunity to take on Redbull it will be another 2 horse race in Dubai.

Should I just congratulate Hamilton now on what will be a walk in the park as he only needs second place. No point pushing the car hard risking a failure in practise or race day or a crash by getting too close to crash bandicoot. :p

Well deserved win 2014 Champion Lewis Hamilton.

P.S I just hope the trophy in Dubai is decent there have been some shocking awful ones this year.

I understand that view point. However, it was rosberg who was cheating trying to scupper his chances in qualifying earlier this season. By your view point we should hate on him for being a crap team mate too.

As always pointed out regarding this matter, the championship winners are often the ruthless ones, willing to go balls out and win at any cost. Look at the history of F1 champions and that is apparent.

If you dislike a guy because you think he's "not nice" that's fair enough, but nice doesn't win titles.

Anyway, doesn't winning at all costs mean you are also winning points for your team? Just because you're not letting your number 2 driver take the title doesn't necessarily make you a bad team player. Both him and rosberg have driven merc, the team, to success.

Easy terms...

If Rosberg is 1st, Hammy needs to be 2nd to win the championship.

points will be:

1st: 50 points
2nd: 36 points

Worst ever decision EVER made in F1.

Apart from the fact it would make no difference if the point system was still the usual method. Either Lewis or Nico will win, Ricciardo can't get anywhere near, even if he won at Abu Dhabi and LH and NR had DNFs.

My take on the last race, pride aside, I genuinely believe that unless LH gets pole, he should sit quite happily in 2nd and just keep the pressure on Rosberg for the whole race. If LH trys to overtake from 2nd, we all know that Rosberg will hit him. I'd put money on it.

No I don't.... he's a poor team player and selfish **** who I certainly don't want to see on any team.

As I said at the start of the season.... he's fast, damn fast and probably the best but at what cost ? Personally I would be happy supporting him if he was on a team by himself :D

You did see Rosberg crash into Hamilton, on purpose....right? Grow up.

A front wing touching a rear tyre sidewall to 'make a point' would be worth it. :)

Too risky. It would be too obvious. Any other race, fare enough, but Hamilton can't afford that in this one, as he could be thrown out, Schumacher style. He doesn't need to do it, so there would be no excuse for it. Spa was misguided and stupid, but not intentionally malicious.

Plus, there's every chance he would knock his own front wing off, putting himself under massive pressure and Rosberg's tyre surviving.

Any contact in Abu Dhabi will be 50/50 or a genuine mistake under pressure. Let's see if Hamilton can actually cope this time around, as he's struggled in the last couple of run-ins (he got very, very lucky in Interlagos in 2008).

All Hamilton has to do is bring it home in second. If he gets pole and cruises to victory then great, but I don't want to see him throw it all away in some stupid risky manoeuvre that hands the WDC to Rosberg.

All the pressure is on Nico to win, so he will have a higher chance to make a mistake, and as we've seen, this could take Lewis out of the race. I think the stewards and FIA would come down in Nico like a tonne of bricks if that happened though.

Lewis should just put 110% into the pole lap, if he doesn't get it, then cruise to 2nd in the race.

Nope. Im pretty convinced Hamilton's car will have a problem in Abu Dhabi and Rosberg will win by default.

Diminishing returns. Say the Merc engine is at 95% of what is technically perfect. They can only improve 5%. If the others are at 80% they have the chance to improve 20%. Added to that the weaker the engine the easier it is to find performance.

True, but perhaps teh Merc's potential is much higher than the competing engine. Maybe the latter has a fundamental flaw that means it can only ever be 90% as good as the merc ?

Kinda torn what I want to happen really.

Part of me wants Hamilton not to win, but I'm more siding with the fact that I really don't want double points to decide it. It's just a dreadful idea and they'd be more inclined to keep it if it decided the title this year. It shouldn't work. It simply isn't a fair idea.

Well if Hamilton has a failure and Rosberg wins, then he wins without double points coming into play.

I just want a fair fight, no mechanical issues that hand Rosberg the title or vice versa (which could easily happen).
