There are lots of reports and rumours now about a new Pink Floyd album being released in October called 'The Endless River'.

Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called "The Endless River". Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright's swansong and very beautiful.

A google search brings up lots of websites now reporting this although Pink Floyd management are not happy about this being leaked.

I have been a massive Pink Floyd fan for 20 years and this would be great.

Apparently Roger Waters is not involved which is a shame.

Are there a lot of other Pink Floyd fans looking forward to a new release?

Hnnnnnnnnng.

Roger Waters could never be a part of something like that again. Just one gig at Live 8 was difficult enough!

Inb4 Gilly - "They're just noise" :p

Although Roger Waters seems to have mellowed and tried to make peace with David Gilmour in recent years, I can't help but feel that Gilmour would never work on any material with Roger and deep down probably still as never forgiven him.

Shame really.

Just listened to audio clip thing on that site and I think we may hear some guitar solos during the album to be comparable to Comfortably Numb.

I have a good feeling about this.

As this release has been said to be a tribute to Richard Wright I am guessing there will be a lot of keyboard work from him that was recorded whilst they had those sessions.

Probably similar stuff to Maronned and Cluster One from the Division Bell album with Gilmour solo's added.

This is being released as a Pink Floyd album so the quality must be considered high by David Gilmour.

The audio clip sounded to me like it is gonna be more like On An Island than older Pink Floyd, but I hope not.

If it is good, I will definitely go for the deluxe CD+BR for the uncompressed goodness.

This is the version I'll get, unless it turns out to be awful.

I love to buy physical copies, and its great to have access to HD material in addition. There are still a few artists that know how to release their albums properly..... cough-U2-cough.

My two (BR and Vinyl) are out for delivery. I just grabbed the autorip from Amazon though for the day :)

Just listened to it right through.

I like it. Sounds very similar to WYWH / Animals in style. Although it does sound exactly like what it is, an album made up of "leftovers". You can tell the vocals are missing, there are parts where I think "some vocals coming in right now would fit perfect". If this had vocals then I dare say it'd be right up there amongst the best Floyd albums. That said though, if you take it for what it is, an instrumental album, then it doesn't disappoint. I'll have this in the car for a while.

I think people who are not Floyd fans as such but just "like a few of their songs" will be a bit underwhelmed as they'll be expecting DSOTM Part 2, so I expect it to get a lot of stick unfortunately.
