Decisions decisions.

Phantek enthoo pro or corsair carbide 540 case. I Will not be doing any fancy custom watercooling. I Will be sticking with the corsair h105.

Which is the better case?

I quite like the look of the corsair just as its different. Im unsure:D

Have a look at the Cooltek W2 as well if you are considering the Corsair Air 540. Hate to say this, but for the 540 it seem that for the price, more went into the brand name instead of build quality (with all the plastics that it uses and little amount of steel) when you comparing to the W2 which is Aluminium, steel.

I have the enthoo pro and love it, i did have a few issues with it but once I got them sorted I am really happy with it.

First issue I had is that the front 200mm fan didn't seem to play nice and even at low rpm sounds so loud, I replaced this with 2 silverstone 140 fans. Which I wanted to do anyway but ended up doing it sooner rather than later.

The 2nd issue happened the other week when i had problems out of nowhere with the power button it had seemed to get stuck, had to just take off the top panel and realign it.

Before building my 2nd choice of case was also the 540 so I understand your tough decision, i like the 540 a lot and both are great cases.

I made my choice in the end for two reasons, one i had never built with a phanteks case and wanted to and two i felt like the 540 would just be too wide for my desk.

Can't go wrong with either imo.

Cheers guys yes its a tough one for me. Desk space is not an issue I have a huge desk that could cater for god knows 3-4 carbides and monitor setups.

I was set on the phantek to start untill the carbide caught my eye. Im still kind of 50/50 :p think i Just like the cleanness of it from the visual side of things.

Seems to be my problem aswell, Don't like how much desk space my 540 is taking up, Would like the case closer to the wall, Thinking about getting one of the Phanteks cases but I've not researched them yet so I don't know the dimensions etc atm.

I have the Enthoo Pro as well and it is a cracking case, the choice for me was easy as i didn't want a window so the 540 was not an option. Have to say i really like the pro its an excellent case but the same as crucio I had to replace the front 200mm fan as it was so noisy. Really like how much of the pro can be removed if you want to, makes it very easy to create massive air flow or mod it..

I have my 540 now. It's a nice case, just a bit cheap in places. Already had bits of plastic break off on the hot swap bay SATA power connector and drive cage. Side panels are a bit flimsy too. Other than that though no other complaints. Lots of space and runs cool.

first thing I did with the 540 was break a release leg from a caddy..
not sure where the plastic came from here but I think the lower tray of the mcvitties collection tin comes to my mind..

anyone wanting the unbroken "other" caddy thing? I have no use for it with no caddy rails in my case.

I have a 540 and it needs a fan controller for the standard fans or fan replacement otherwise its crazy loud, I use a fan controller with the standard fans and its fine, almost silent at idle

It is a little too big for a single GPU and as said its a little cheap in places but if you're careful with the flimsy bits its fine nothings broken on mine, other than that it looks great, great to build in, runs cool and easy to clean

First time I built my rig in it, Apparently I somehow ripped mines out from the socket...
