Caterham F1/GP2 assets seized by bailiffs?

If only I had £2500 lying about I would happily buy a front or rear wing, that would look awesome in the living room.

Lets see , now how much money shall I give to the multi millionaire playboys to carry on playing ??

I mean , really ???? Classless :(

£1m, that's a drop in the ocean needed to keep an F1 team going. What is the point of this fundraiser exactly?

To get them to Abu Dhabi is all they're after.

You didn't think they were going to ask for 2.35 mill to run for the 2015 campaign did you? :p

Desperation to take part in the final race and prove they are a saleable commodity to investors.

Caterham, the Rubens Barrichello of teams :D

What happens if they get the 2.3 Million for Abu Dhabi to take part for the last race but still go under before next March… Wouldn't that be really bad for the masses who donated?

Seems daft though? It's not like they're going to get a point. Right? Take part to be last…

Well, some cynics have already said that it could well be they are after going to Abu Dhabi to get their hands on some of the prize money just to pay off some of the debtors... Which if that was the case would be pretty disgusting behavior.

If they can pay off the debtors, they have a chance of getting on the grid next year if someone picks up the team.

Whatever the mechanism regarding running costs, were known to them when they signed up. If they cant afford it they shouldn't be in F1. Harsh but that's how it works.

Asking people for money whether to pay off their debts or to fund their chosen lifestyle is disgusting IMO

So they're going to hang around until the end of 2015 to get the 2014 prize money?

It's paid a year in arrears. So Marussia will get nothing as the team is gone and if Caterham goes then the other teams will be happy as that's another $10mil to distribute among the other teams along with the ~$50mil that was intended for Marussia.

Except, Marissua, HRT and Lotus Racing signed up under the 40million limit that was promised by Bernie and the FIA, but never actually became reality. Then the price of the engines tripled this year as well, which is always helpful for lowering costs...

Read Eddie Jordan's remarks on the subject. You may find enlightenment as to why Marussia and Caterham are only failing because Bernie Ecclestone is greedy.

It's all about the fans. ¬_¬

It'd be cheaper for me to get a season ticket to Iowa Speedway's entire calendar, and fly out there multiple times, than it would to attend some of F1's individual race events. I'd be able to watch a lot more car types and actually see on-track passing :p

F1 is largely dependent on TV revenues, once the viewer numbers drop below a certain point and devalue the contracts, CVC is in trouble.

The bits and bobs they're flogging off keep being added to every day. They've now got wheel nuts, bags, lanyards, exhaust manifolds, suspension bits, brakes and engine covers. It's a proper closing down sale, 'everything must go!' job.

No takers on the big money items like £45k for an all expenses executive trip to the last GP.

Doesn't look like Caterham are going to make their target. The initial rush for caps and shirts raked in a fair amount but with only a day to go they're at 54% of what they need. They've only raised 3% in the last day and a bit.

that's because 45k for that is a monumental **** take.

and, are they even gonna have a car left at this rate? :p
