Ok guys so i've just done a build using the corsair 540 and it has this cable which I believe is for the front 2 USB 3.0 ports:

This cable wont fit on my mobo anywhere, however I do have what look to be 2 smaller versions of this at the bottom of my mobo:

On my old case it had 1 USB3.0 port on the front and the cable for it plugged into one of these smaller ports on my mobo.

Now my question is, can I get an adapter for this to split it into these 2 ports on my mobo? or am I being retarded and these are actually usb 2.0 ports? Like I said before though i'm pretty sure i was getting USB 3.0 speeds on the front of my old case.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S sorry for the massive images.

Your motherboard doesn't have any internal USB 3 headers so there's no way to use them at full speed. Your only option is the above adapter for USB 2, or buying an USB 3 PCI card which has an internal header on it.

It will fit in the longer slots as well. PCI-E works in any number the same or higher so a 1x card will work in the 16x slots.
