Mobile was stolen a few days back so got this secondhand S4 to replace it.

So far all working well, but little concerned by the label under the battery. Has a black mark on it (the red is by me).

Doesnt look like a true burn... no smell, or flaking of sticker... more like a marker pen almost.

Should I be concerned at all?

Maybe the previous owner had a faulty battery that affected the sticker. Could even have been the result of being repaired for whatever reason.

I have had two phones where the IMEI label has become unreadable due to wear and tear, although nothing like that.

You can easily check it on the phone itself anyway, so why would anyone bother scratching it off on a label?

You could probably enhance the image enough to be able to read the IMEI or run the barcode through a reader.

 I'm not even sure how you would wear out the IMEI label!?

Not as badly worn as I remember it but certainly rubbing off.

The label is right in the middle of where the battery sits in the s4. it's practically impossible to wear that label off, Im forever messing with my s4 - i removed the battery a lot, lol - and there's not a scratch on mine.
