Happy to give you a game anytime matey.The Dlc release was mentioned to me by a friend in Germany but I can't find an official word on it yet.Not long to wait anyway
 
I spotted my wii u with the orange 'system standby mode' light on before leaving work today, looking forward to playing tonight.

On that note, I do like how the wii u switches from power standy to system standby automatically to download updates, works great.
 
Yeah I leave my Wii U plugged in so it just sorts itself out with updates - zero hassle.

I see there's a patch first of all (which will install automatically), but I guess we have to download the actual DLC pack manually though?
 
Not sure, the hyrule warriors dlc downloaded automatically for me so mk8 should do the same. However, it may be faster if you trigger it manually as the automatic triggers for Spotpass may be staggered to keep load off the servers.

Or, it may all be downloaded with the patch, and you will be given access to the DLC if you have purchased it.

So was the dlc in the patch or something? I bought both packs when they first came up, eshop has no option to download, just says purchased.

Mario kart downloaded an update before playing and the dlc is there now. So the dlc is in the patch and the purchase is just an unlock?
 
if it doesn't auto download just restart the Wii U and fire up Mario kart.The dlc will then install as long as you are connected online.
