US: The Walking Dead Season 5 (contains spoilers)

Was a slow episode with very little of interest, the first 5-10 mins was cliché crap and I thought the way they did Abraham's back story was a bit light to really be as revealing as they intended. Clearly his family were terrified of him and judging by how bruised up his "wife" looked I expect he was a beater.

I thought at the end it would have been better if he had shot himself, like having gone full circle since the day he met Eugene.

Eugene was certainly out cold but I wonder if he is dead. Plus why would it be safer to be in Washington?! Look at the sheer size of the herd they just saw, now imagine how many people died and reanimated in a major city  Seems to me it would be insanity to go there.

I agree that Washington seems like a stupid idea. I mean look at the scenes of Atlanta in Season 1. It would be suicide.

I also agree with someone's comments about the dialogue. It's got to the stage now that I watch most of the show on x1.5 or x2 speed (I can still make out the dialogue but it doesn't seem so dull - especially when it's on x2 as it is like listening to the Chipmunks :)).

I don't see it that way. The walkers have went from being something terrifying to something comparable to chopping down a bush that you have to wear gloves in order not to get poisoned by. At this point there would be somewhere that has been cleared as a safe haven where people have congregated and put their heads together. Washington is as good a place as any.

^^ agreed, I would be more concerned about the living at this point. It is a shame that the walkers were dumbed down so much, they were pretty intelligent in the first series.

Another enjoyable episode...plus some naughty scenes  :D

Would be nice to see a bit more like in the first couple of episodes of season 1 where they were all using protective equipment, etc. that said when you start dealing with something dangerous day on day you learn how to handle it better and can get away with things that would be fatal for someone without the experience.

If it has got to that stage why watch it? I don't really follow why you put yourself through it if it is that bad. I personally find it great but that imo of course.

I still enjoy the show but I just find that it's slow. Watching lots of slow, dull dialogue isn't so bad on x2 and speeds the game up until the next exciting section. Hell, I'd have watched all of season 2 on x16 if I'd known how it panned out. :)

Lol fair enough

I hate slow episodes :(.

Got me wondering though. How are the zombies still able to groan after all this time surely their vocal chords would have dehydrated by now. I have yet to see a zombie drinking water :D.

Agreed, the pace has reduced to trickle-feed again now.

If you were the writers and producers, you'd do the same though wouldn't you? Enough people are still watching, so we're being fed just enough story and action to string it out for as long as possible. We have become the survivors :D

Was anyone else bashing their head against the wall when they climbed into the teetering ambulance? How the hell did they survive that drop with no serious injuries? They could have just lead the heard away then looped back around to check the ambulance.

Scene in the latest ep where Daryl is shooting walkers in the head with his crossbow. Then seconds later, he has one of the bolts in his mouth. Bit of a logic fail there.

Also the van falling off the bridge was completely silly.

It's like they decided they need x amount of episodes to make y amount of money this season and couldn't come up with decent scripts for them all, so are just giving us filler. I wouldn't mind so much if we actually learned some interesting back story during it but that was a waste of time.
