OcUK Mario Kart 8 Community, Tournament & NNID Share Thread!

The DLC is a separate download that triggers in-game (at least for me) - it started automatically from the main menu of Mario Kart 8.

Oh, I guess it must have just downloaded like that for me as well. I was playing on another console and just had the wiiu + gamepad on to get the dlc. Must have done it without me noticing.

I don't see why Nintendo have to be different. Everyone else lets you just download your dlc from their store.

Mute City track makes me want to unpack the GameCube and play GX. It's a great track though, there's no coins (you get them from the recharge strip instead), and the item blocks are placed at breaks in the track to make it feel more like F-Zero. Electric walls too!.

I've set the ocuk tournament to new tracks only temporarily, if anyone is up for some... 'new tracks only' racing.

It may have just downloaded automatically for you, as you are prompt to confirm the download in-game if you don't already have it. Might explain why you didn't get an option in the store - you already had it.

Tanooki Mario turns to stone when you boost jump. This makes me tingle with all sorts of joy.

These new levels are amazing, stunning. I feel like going on single player and just driving around really slow.

Tanooki Mario racing through Mute City fills me with joy :)

After trying to play Halo CCE and Drive club online I forgot what trouble free gaming was like till tonight :)

DLC done properly.

Well played Nintendo - my God you're actually learning.

After a lengthy conversation about DLC and how bad it is etc, which it is. I did argue Nintendo's case saying they won't mess up and I'm glad they haven't. I hate DLC as much as the next guy, but Nintendo have done well here. I can't believe I have more to come for my £11!

Bargaintastic!

We should indeed give credit to Nintendo's online experience - it is zero hassle and reliable - very rarely do I have any trouble dropping straight into an online game.

budge1972 - some close games this evening! Still getting beat 6-8 though ;)

Also can I be added to the list, should be Beggers| Beggers| Begbie (how orginal!)

Thread and ocuk mariokart group seem to be pretty inactive, hopefully things will change when the next wave of DLC is released. and i'll grind you all into the dirt with my dry bowser :D

Yeah quite a small community on here in general, but the tournament was good fun for the first couple of weeks :). If I see someone online I'll usually try and join their lobby but I think it's been a while since I last played with someone from here.

I still play online fairly frequently, the itch often resurfaces and must be cured :p.

budge, your Mii still freaks me out :D
