Can anyone recommend me a desk mic?

Hi chaps

I work from home a lot and I tend to spend the entire day wearing my Logitech G930s. I use skype a fair bit (probably 4-5 hours a day upwards) and wearing the headset all the time is getting to be a pain for me. It's not an uncomfortable headset, I just don't want to be wearing one.

I want to switch to using speakers and a standalone mic. I need a microphone that will:

1) Filter out noise from the speakers (I realise software may be key here)
2) Capture my voice well without having to be an inch from my face (I move around a lot)
3) Ideally, not deafen everyone with the sound of my mechanical keyboard.

I realise these requirements may be difficult/impossible to meet, but I know very little about microphones.

Budget wise... no more than £50-100 I'd say or I'll have to stick with headset.

Cheers!

Blue Microphones are excellent well made with great performance.

Thanks. I borrowed a Blue Snowball Ice mic that my mother uses for audio recording. The sound quality is alright but I have to be very close to the microphone which isn't ideal. Also it made my voice sound very flat and dull somehow.

Is there another blue mic that might do better?

That's quite a difficult mic to find. I reckon your best bet would be a pencil condenser with a tight pickup pattern (very directional) like the t-bone EM 9600 and a cheap interface like a Behringer 302, Blue Icicle or similar. Add a desk stand or arm if you need one. That should come in at around £70-80ish I think.
