** GALAX HOF WHITE EDITIONS 9xx SERIES NOW AVAILABLE!! **

According to the website the ETA is 'overdue'. I presume this means they havn't actually got them in stock atm and that we wont indeed be getting our cards when we figured we would! Bit of a bummer as I had time off to receive the order but now ill have to pick it up from wherever the DPD man leaves it.

One thing I noticed that horrified me also was when checking my email for a dispatched mail (which I didnt get for obvious reasons) I looked on the order confirmation email which states that the 1 qty card is £274.99 and the VAT is £323.11 giving my order a total of £598.10!

I have no idea why there is that figure as the correct price is £329.99 with VAT added not £323.11.

Now im worried im gonna be massively overcharged as well as not receive my card when I was expecting it :(

Im actually thinking I should have just bought a different model right now. Im sure however that ill be taking all this back once it does actually arrive.

Any ETA better than 'overdue'? I preferably want it before Dragon Age 3 comes out next Friday!

Gibbo mentioned in another thread that as of this morning they are still sitting in China waiting to be shipped, so definitely delayed.

As for the price error, I had that on an order yesterday and called to ask, but apparently they are aware of the issue and it won't be charged at that amount, it's just an error in how it's displayed.

Thanks for the info. Do we know when they will be shipped from China?

I presume it will take a day to get over to OCUK and then another to get shipped from there, so 3 days from the shipping date from China?

Will have an update Monday. :)

I think i'm the only one here but i'm not a big fan of white cards.

Im here for the specs not the aesthetics so you can count me in also.

It will be replacing 2 GTX 580's in a black watercooling setting. My entire rig is black except for my UV watercooling tubing. So this thing will stand out like a sore thumb. I went for the specs however and the fact that hopefully the cooling will be good enough for me to not need to rush into watercooling it and perhaps let me save up for a second if I feel the need to.

Thanks Gibbo I would certainly love to get it sooner rather than later as earlier stated.

I moved house into a new area entirely (new county) at the beginning of this week and so I will need to work out where the DPD guy drops stuff off when they are undelivered. Should be fun!

The 980 HOF are shipping this week 100% for sure. I was speaking with Galax today. My sample should be at OCUK Monday. I will update the thread as soon as it arrives and RAG the dam thing too!!

I'm debating this vs the 970 reference with a view to SLI in an H440? I'm getting the sense it wouldn't be such a great idea to SLI the HOF in this case. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the update 8Pack. Hopefully the 970's will follow also. I really can't imagine playing Dragon Age 3 with 2 580's!

Dont do this to me OCUK! :p

Any thoughts on this anyone? I wouldn't have any HD's up front to block airflow and I've replaced stock fans with high SP fans, plus a good 140mm at the rear as exhaust. 240 AIO as intake in roof. I'd love to SLI x2 970 HOFs, but I'm not sure if my temps would go nuts? Should I stick with reference? My board (Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H) does seem to have space in-between the slots, so they wouldn't be slammed up right close to each other.

I guess I'm also wondering just how much better this is than the OCUK 970 reference, given the small price difference.

Sorry to say but I don't really know enough to offer valuable insight on that setup. I can say however that ive never run SLI on air cooling before so im not sure how exactly that would work. Does the heat from the bottom card transfer to the top card? I would presume so, even if its just a few degrees added.

If you were to look at watercooling then maybe the OCUK version would be better?

I dunno its better to ask this question in the graphics card section I think.

Well, I've actually realised that despite the slot gap, it actually WILL be right up against another one due to it being 5cm thick! So looks like I'm sticking with the reference route for SLI.
