Spending Saturday & Sunday night in Liverpool with the missus so just after some recommendations on where to eat and drink in the evening whilst we are there.

We're staying near the Albert Dock but not too fussed about moving around.

Food wise, pretty sure we're going to try Sapporo teppanyaki one of the days, so something more French, English or Steak orientated perhaps the other night if anyone has any recommendations.

Will be out for a drink both nights too. Don't want to be surrounded by chavs. Like Dance/Dubstep/Dnb music as well as mainstream Indie and Rock type stuff but nothing too heavy!

Can anyone recommend some good pubs, bars and clubs that are worth a visit, or even just the best area to head to based on what I've said?

Cheers :)

Clubs wise try Krazyhouse (don't be put off by their not enforced no phones policy that is all over the entrance) as it has floors of dance (commercial), indy and rock. Not a bad place but quite youngish crowd.

The Indian east-z-east near the echo arena (next to the docks) is great if you want to dress up but not pay an absolute fortune. Alternatively for a really good Indian but not a nicely decorated place go to master chef in town I think renshaw street. Otherwise Liverpool 1 has normal places and Albert Dock has some decent ones such as Miller and carter and circo. Also for lunch there's a french pancake snack place in the inside that is decent. Shiraz in town on Williamson square or North John Street (10 min walk) is great for brunch!

Hope that helps.

lol the guy wants a nice quite night out with the missus and u say go the Krazyhouse :D
unless he is no older than 18 and off his face on coke i would giv that a miss.
Circo is a good shout though :)

I used to go to the Krazyhouse back before mobile phones were a thing.

As a student it was an awesome night out, not sure I'd take the Mrs. there...

Haha it doesn't have to be quiet I never said that!

Been having a bit of a look it sounds like the Seal St area might be a good shout for Saturday night.

What's the no phones all about?

Concert square by Bold street probably has the most going on as there are loads of bars round there like Modo etc. The Sir Thomas hotel bar also has a nice atmosphere of a weekend and sometimes has a live singer in there on his guitar

Bill's is very handy if you staying by Albert Dock. Good pancakes if you need a breaky option.

Been to a Bill's before was good, didn't realise there was one here. We've sorted for breakfast but will keep it in mind :)

For steak, try Meet on Brunswick Street!

Concert Square is awful!

That's kind of what I'd picked up on line but heard that the Seal Street area is not as bad?

MEET sounds good, there is nothing better that char grilled steak! Last Argentinian steak place I went was Gaucho's in Manchester which was probably the best steak I've had.

Would you recommend meet or Miller & Carter?

Any places particularly good to drink on the Sunday night? Was thinking of spending some time at Albert Docks Sunday evening but I've no idea if that's a good call.

my fave restaurants in the 'pool at the moment

Almost Famous for a dirty burger on the Sunday to cure your hangover
Restaurant Bar and Grill- very nice place
San Carlo- very nice Italian but a bit posey
Neon Jamon (Out of city centre though in Allerton)
Fazenda- unlimited grilled meat, what is not to love
Slim's Pork Chop Express- BBQ meat
Delifonseca- quiet deli place down by Brunswick Dock
Camp and Furnace- cracking sunday roast and other meals good too

I really would avoid Sapporo as I always find the food there very greasy due to all the oil they use on the teppan gril thing.

Bars, stick to Seel St and give concert square a miss and you will be grand

Is Viva Brazil still there? Used to be lovely food in there? The one where they bring all the meats to your table :)

Viva Brazil just re-opened after a refurbishment. I suspect Fazenda has been nicking a lot of their business as it's round the corner and a lot better.

I got an invite to their re-launch party....which ended up in my spam folder and as a result I didn't go :(

Bem Brazil for meat sweats, Zorba's for lovely greek food (near the bombed out church, St Lukes) and Amalia for great Italian food.

I've never been to Fazenda, how is it a lot better?

I go to Viva Brazil with a friend almost once a week as I have 2 for 1 vouchers for a Tuesday there.

Cheers for the help all.

Went to Sapporo on the Saturday night. I didn't really expect the food to be anything special but wanted to take the missus because we don't have a teppanyaki place near where we live. Food was actually really nice, enjoyed it.

Went to Restaurant Bar & Grill on Sunday. Really nice inside and the food was great too. A couple of extra things added to our bill that we hadn't ordered but they were took off straight away. Glad we went :)
