msi gaming gtx 970 ek water blocks

i was going to hit buy this morning until i realised the backplate isn't out until December. that's a bit stupid to me whats the point in building my loop to take it apart again in a couple weeks ill just wait until i can buy the backplate at the same time

yeah that is bit strange. why would you release the block now but not the backplate till december.
 
they attach with 4 screws that you take out the back of the board which you can do in situ if its a single card and you have room to get a small philips in above the card etc.
 
It is really easy to install a backplate even when the card is installed. The waterblock will be held to the card at all times due to 4 screws that attach the block to the card which aren't used by the backplate.
 
Not sure I like the new directional block design, jet plates on GPU's are a bit redundant. Just seems like pointless over complication to make it look cooler.
