**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Thanks Mate, think I might have to buy it and then flash the generic BTU.

Let me know if you find it, I can only see carrier based ones at the moment.

On that point, has anyone tried flashing the EE ROM? It wouldn't work on mine, I had to go back to O2, although Three worked too.

Also, EE's Cash On Tap, does that need to be on an EE ROM to work? Wouldn't install for me at the moment. I know EE customer service tell people it will only work on EE phones, which is either a lie or maybe there's something baked into their ROM's?

You want the plain BTU firmware for the SM-N910F?

Here's the latest BTU N910FXXU1ANJ4_N910FBTU1ANJ2_BTU.zip, though it's a bit old now (08 Oct 2014). You'll need to register for the dl.

What kind of battery life are you folks getting so far? My Note4 (unrooted) is sitting at 2days 14hrs with 4.3hr SoT and 10% battery left. Granted I haven't been using it that much compared to the first occasion but even then I managed 5hrs SoT. Really pleased so far.

I tend to average 2 1/2 days battery with 5 to 6 hours screen time.
Best I've seen so far is 3 days with 4 hours 55mins screen time.

Cheers dude. Those are impressive figures indeed.

Utajoker - take a look at this for rooting stuffs. I'm currently contemplating it myself.

Edit: Buggery. Just rooted mine and installed Xposed to tweak bits of the UI. Now got writeable ext SD card support back and less clutter on the notification pull down :)

Anyone got the Spigen Glas screen protector yet? Any good?
Been running mine for a few weeks without a protector, reckon its probably time to get one now.

Kainz... if you've rooted you should try the AEL kernel. Much better battery life..things feel more fluid. Over clocked to 2.8 or the newer version which is at 2.9. Or you can use an older version that isn't over clocked.

My contract is coming to an end in January. I'm considering the S5 or note. I will be getting myself out to view them soon.

Quick heads up to those considering rooting and then installing Xposed. In doing so you'll find SHealth not working properly as it will hang when run, this is possibly caused by the app not being able to see the sensors. This results in a 3 second random lag on the device. Basically Xposed and SHealth seem to have a history of not working together.

This quick fix however resolves that. It consists of a quick edit of the build.prop file.

After a few days with the Note 4, I have to say I'm really liking it.
The Samsung Smart Switch app is really handy too.

The phone itself feels far more premium than the Note 3 and the screen protector I got went on first time with no bubbles. It was fate that I get the Note 4 over the Z3 :D

I'm in Korea next month. Any issues with me buying a Note 4 there and bringing it back to the UK and adding a UK sim to it?

Do I just need to just make a 5 minute call with it using a Korean sim whilst i'm in Korea?

Also anyone know which is best, Exynos running 64-bit vs Snapdragon (32-bit)?

Mine arrived today - very happy with it.

Quick question. I have an existing dropbox account, any way for me to claim the 50GB allowance on it?
