*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Heh, after having to wait until my 21st raid to get the Epilogue, I get a 2nd on my very next raid, alongside a Hawkmoon. I managed to max out my first Epilogue inside a day and it's pretty useful in the first part of the raid. The VoC is better from the Gatekeeper onwards I think, but it's nice to have both guns to swap between.

How did you max it out so quickly?
I've got 3 characters, and when I got the gun last night I still had all the bounties to do on 2 characters. I also had Auto Rifle telemetry items to use, and with the Nightfall XP bonus on top of that it didn't take too long. I had it maxed out before I'd finished all the bounties on all 3 characters today.

Finally managed to finish off the Weekly heroic on my secondary Hunter last night. The game kicked me to orbit twice when I was at the final boss....

Amazingly I didn't die either which is a first on my hunter.

I may use my next shards on her next rather than my raid Warlock. The latter is again at level 29 but I am missing one Raid piece to get me to level 30. It makes more sense at the moment to get my hunter to level 28 (with her tweaked armour) than pushing my warlock any higher (level 29). The lack of damage reduction in the NF & WH will be far more useful (I am still amazed how noticable the reduction is from just one level).

Once I get those raid gauntlets though its on to level 30 :D

Out of all 3 class, I really love my Hunter (Gunslinger)

This happened a couple of day ago:

Knives! Knife and Knife Juggler perk is brilliant in PvP.

My Gunslingers knife throw saved my bacon in the weekly heroic. Thanks to my hunter being underleveled and Lightswitch being enabled, dregs were able to to one hit me via melee. At near death I managed to panic throw my knife and kill a dreg that was within melee range......

First I was , then I was

Then I got kicked to orbit and was like

its really tough that strike. good luck

Was pretty easy in the end. P&T maxed and my solar The Cure made short work of it :) Just need to keep killing the yellow wizards/knights until Xyor appears and let rip.

Had a good week lootwise, now I'm just short of shards. I'm sure this week's VoG will sort that.

Timebreaker make bounty/farming runs so much fun, especially with the kamikaze-mode boost :D

Aye, that's why I had to pull the knives of them - was doing weekly heroic and didn't fancy dying!

I do practice a fair bit when I'm material farming as the Knife Juggler perk returns knife immediately on headshots, my longest chain is 14... The Divide farming for Spinmetal. Could have done longer but throwing a knife at a Shank was silly on me.

This leveling is a bit of a pain in the arse.

Even with doing ALL bounties available to me, I am completing the missions quicker than I'm leveling.

It got to a point last night where I stopped, and am waiting for a new set of bounties today to crack on with before continuing the story missions.

Any ideas how to overcome this?

On my hunter it wasn't a problem as we didn't know what to do the first time round so ended up doing all sorts and leveling just running around and doing random rubbish.

On my warlock, it was the same as this titan I'm trying to level. It's annoying! :p

It depends on how much grinding you want to do...

You could always play around in the Crucible to gain XP but it depends if you like PVP or not.

Alternatively doing patrols and finding an area where the enemies spawn quickly can net you XP quickly. The Rocketyard Hive enemies are good for this. They go down quickly (level 6-8) and respawn quickly.

Spend around an hour in this area (it is as boring as ****) can push you through two levels quite easily (I done this on my third character when I was level 17-18).

Overrun some mission levels initially then play Harder level (Heroic Modifier) to help level even quicker.

I did my Level 0 to Level 20 over 2 sets of bounties, half of the story mission on 'standard', the other half on the first Heroic Modifier. I also did all the easy 5000 crucible bounties. I did have a selection of fully levelled up guns from my earlier characters to help.

Whilst doing what Owen suggest, farm for materials to help ease your other characters and further down the line.

Just get someone to run through the missions with you. Martin did this with me and my warlock went from character creation to level 20 in just under 24 hours including sleep and work. Probably 8-10 hours game time. Then it was another 6-7 hours to level armour and get to around 26.

Story mode got me to around level 17-18 and then a few bounties and some crucible matches got me to 20.

Yeah sorry I should have mentioned this. It is also a good way to get green / blue engrams (depending on level).

It really helps when you are levelling a second character if you have armour to give it from your first character. My second Warlock (third character overall) went straight to level 29 thanks to sharing armour with my first Warlock. What was funny was my characters abilities were (and still are) not fully unlocked.

It all depends if you are levelling a second / third character for "fun" or just to gain quick(er) rewards etc

Snap to above few posts,on a whim decided to create a 2nd character Friday evening, not sure how many hours I played weekend but Saturday night played halo co op,so not too extreme,by Sunday night had a warlock just under lvl 18 and must say been enjoying it.
One story mission left, decent amount of bounties but no crucible and have summoning pits and strike without dying to do when I start later.
Am pretty angry with myself though as few weeks ago when levelling up titan I ran very short of shards so broke up 5 lots of warlock legendary armour, only have exotic chest and legendary gauntlets ready now, irony is I have almost 100 shards now lol

I want your shards... I need so many! Every unlock is available to me I just need shards. I run everything I can to get them but get energy 80% of the time...

I'm almost tempted to scrub my hunter and replace her with another Warlock. At least I won't have to bother upgrading her armour once she hits level 20...

Problem is I like my moody as **** hunter. She even broke the game Saturday night when her ability to go invisble glitched and kept cycling even when not crouched. It was funny at first but quickly became annoying.

Levelling up my second Warlock I ran into the same problem, I got up to level 14/15 but the story mode were higher levels than I was. Happy to play PvP though so taken a few bounties for that and probably going to PvP my way to level 20 ready to do strikes twice, still need to do a lot of work though as going to be weird having a fully levelled character with only half the abilities unlocked.

Edit: I have run in to the same problems with shards. Now I have fully upgraded my raid armour and waiting for some more starting to build up a collection. I think I have a massive 10 of them now competed to my 70ish energy :D

Been doing opposite to me,only have 6 energy lol
Funniest moment Ive had with this warlock was Friday night,I attempted to defend a warsat at lvl 2 on my own :D was running in circles, then just as about to give up a lvl27 turned up,after he sent me a msg"u sure about that?";)

I thought I had a load of Shards and Energies, boom, within 3 days, I ran out because of all the new Guns, Armours and Exotics I upgraded for flexibility.

That's the primary reason I'm doing Raid now. Secondary is if I get raid related weapons.

Public events are fun as a low level player.

On the mention of public events has anyone else noticed that there appears to be a hell of a lot more additional enemies when trying to take on the fallen walker? On the Divide Walker I was getting two captains and multiple solar shielded shanks appearing right away despite running solo.

Attempting to solo a Walker on Venus was even worse. I did it but was completely overwhelmed twice by the enemies.

I can't remember there being as many enemies in the past. Maybe I am just imagining it.
