You know what ? I'm now glad there is no solo offline part of the game. Yep I said it, I'm glad because now they can concentrate 100% on making Elite Dangerous without having to pull resources from the main game to appease all the care bears :p

But seriously, joking a side (the no internet thing), the clue is in the games title !! there's nothing more thrilling than ploughing all your credits into a cargo run knowing that you could be pulled from warp by some meany pants pirate who wants to steal your booty resulting in total loss and destruction! Sure, that can happen in solo mode but it just doesn't have the impact and immersion that multiplayer gaming offers.

Btw, if you want to play Elite offline and solo the original game is free to download at your leisure > Elite <

If I had one gripe it would be having no free-cam in single player mode, I can understand not having it in the online multiplayer version so I hope they code that feature in. Why sell ship paint jobs and skins if you can't see them ? (hanger excluded)

You can still play it solo so all joking aside, your comments are meaningless.

I know the feeling. I haven't really played much since I joined the beta but today I decided to gave a good go. I now have a Cobra mk III and really enjoy playing. Don't want to do too much as I believe there is a wipe at some point. When us that, do we know yet?
 
Well, just logged on and sold up, I won't be able to play again until Monday, so I'm hoping the wipes leaves the wallet intact. The only way to to sell my ship seems to be part-ex it for the cheapest. Turns out I was only 1mill off an Asp, surprised how much my Lakon Type-6 was worth with all the upgrades.
 
I did like the question "How serious are you taking Elite Dangerous".
Well me, I put a load of cash into it - actually, relatively little, but probably around £100.
I'll be using my standard PC, keyboard and mouse.
If I can enjoy the game from that, then great. But I'm not going to go and spend vasts amount of cash on the game.

Upgraded my pre-order to a beta today and dug out an old BlackWidow Hotas untl my Warthog on Chrimbo day.

Speechless......

I'm going to be spending a fortune on my PC purely to play Elite in Occulus Rift.
