Will UKIP win its first seat in parliament tonight?

Shall be placing my vote tomorrow, but unfortunately, I don't think it'll make much difference. Seems UKIP have a strong lead in Rochester & Strood. Something I can confirm from my own "research" (i.e., the amount of "I'm supporting Mark Reckless!" leaflets I see in windows every time I take the dog for a walk). Anyone else here entitled to vote in this by-election?

So far all I have seen from people on the opposite side to v0n is, and I will use your term here, waffle. v0n has presented some opinion but mostly facts that counter UKIP's policies.

Then we get trite like "if you don't like it you can leave" and "Are you or your family migrants?"

Classy. :(
You can't use reason to persuade somebody who doesn't value reason.

lol

Don't hold Florida up as an example of how to do anything remotely related to the modern era.

Indeed, Florida is the laughing stock of the US primarily for rules like that - most Americans I know are ashamed to be American when associated with such lunacy. They are all for seceding Texas and Florida back to Mexico.

Talking utter rubbish. You must live up north past Virginia or on the west coast.
What state in MY country do you live in?

The irony from our friend, immigrant himself in the US and spouting protectionism for UK, what makes your immigration different ?

It's the same thing you hear all the time from expats "England isn't what it used to be ......" While they continue to live in Spain, Thailand, U.S. etc

The way I'm seeing it is that the ruling class don't want to see Labour get elected, which is probably due to their plans to tackle the wealthy as opposed to scapegoating the poor & disabled.

The best way to do that is to promote UKIP so that lots of people who are angry with the Conservatives will vote UKIP instead of Labour. The Lib Dems pretty much pressed the self destruct button when they sold out to be in power so there was no other party to take votes away from Labour next election. That's my explanation for why UKIP have been promoted in the media so much in recent times when prior to the last election they could barely get a mention unless it was something negative.

What point is Labour MP, Emily Thornberry trying to make?

What point is Labour MP, Emily Thornberry trying to make?

LOL. I think she's neatly encapsulated in less than 140 characters and a picture why people think politicians are so out of touch with reality. I'm not a white van driving, Engerland flag waving kinda guy, but I know these people exist up and down the country - even in London!

That picture looked like every other house in Romford during the last World cup or Stupid Football event.
