School marked down by Ofsted for being 'too white'

This in spades.

It has ruined our nations sporting prowess. It will ruin our academics too.
.

Oh really?

What sporting prowess are you talking about? We're no worse than we've ever been - generally better. Football, maybe (not really, tbh), but the main culprit that gets the finger pointed at it there is that of the Premier League and its millions - a fine example of rampant capitalism if ever there was one!

I'm not entirely sure that 'mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs' have ever been 'fundamental British values.'

NO, you will learn to 'respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs'.

The thought police aren't without a sense of irony.

Ban religion in school teach science properly and make IT a real subject not a bolt on like PE.

Stop sending unsuitable kids to sixth form and re-introduce a proper apprenticeship agenda where schools are rewarded for getting it right not rewarded for the number of kids they get into sixth form.

I Love my job don't get me wrong but I shouldn't have ever been sent on the path I went on to get here. I should have done an apprenticeship I was given the whole You're smart you go to Uni garb. Careers advice my ass.

As for labelling sets I heard about this too hilarious.

At my school we had Left and Right then L1 R1 L2 R2 and so on. so rather than 1 top tier there were two top tiers I thought it worked well.

Really. Yes football is the main one. Seeing as it is our chosen sort. You watch over the next 5/10/15 years, once the lefts 'it's the taking part that counts' influence is in full effect.

Competition raises standards. Destroy that at grass roots and you create a generation of people who think they are all the best and winners.

I'd love to see/meet the person who graded this school. I just need to know whether or not they have any common sense... They probably don't but I feel I should give them the benefit of the doubt and at least meet them before passing judgement.

It seems the world is being governed by clowns.

The British Empire, built on mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs...

Are you being sarcastic? not sure to be honest.

The left will always go to the extreme, when you point out that they are obsessed with equality, they will then say that you want a society of discrimination and religious hatred. You don't have to be obsessed with quality/diversity/multiculturalism to have respect for different cultures and religions.

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic, but there is some truth in that.
The empire didn't really distinguish between nationality, religion, and ethnicity, at least not any more than was necessary. If you were born in Nigeria, you were Nigerian, it didn't matter if you were Hauso, Ibo or otherwise, and they all learnt English, it united the country. Similar situations can be pointed to around the rest of the empire, and it is probably a major reason to why the Sikhs defected to the British in the battle for India.

The british empire was built on the unapologetic exploitation of people around the world.

Just because you don't discriminate between who you're exploiting doesn't mean you give a damn.

Nice little rant there. Care to address the OP? Seems to me you want to blame the system for your failures.

That's funny because my lad is signed as a junior for a Premier club and they do the opposite of what you say. The coaches get it into your head as soon as they are there that winning at all costs and competition at early ages leads to a mentality where the kids don't take risks are stiffled and stop running with the ball and pick up bad habits that lead to poor technique. Now the club is not one of the top English ones but I would wager the FA trained coaches know a little bit about competitive football than you do. ;)

I learned quite a lot of that sort of stuff through the Scout Association/St John Ambulance. I guess it depends whether you think that should be done through schooling, or through voluntary organisations like those two/learning from family/etc. It'd be nice to think the latter's realistic... but we know swathes of parents/families are complete *****! :-\

Yep, I learned a lot of the in cubs and then onto scouts etc but nowadays that doesn't seem to be the done thing in most places. When I was a lad we all did it and I think we were better for it.

That is in a private club though, thankfully this cultural marxism has not yet been able to infect such places although they do try through the likes of feminist shaming and other tactics.

A private club and government education system/curriculum are not subject to the same things.

Did you read his post correctly?

Are you really comparing grass roots football at school level to premier league academies? Of course there will be children might be promising on the sporting front and excel. But we aren't just talking about your little Johnny here.

Maybe they do. I've been around the football scene enough to give a pretty accurate summary of the trend. But you wouldn't know about my past sporting life, so I'll let you off ;)
