I've been doing this commute for the last 3 years and 2 months!! without a single indecent!!

Now I'm on my last but one day of working out this way...

I was sitting at the Lights outside the big Tesco's in Slough, about 6:20am, minding my own business waiting for the lights to change, when I hear a noise behind me to the left. As I glance around I see a guy trying my passenger door handle, whilst his mate is still standing by my rear passenger door still trying the handle (the noise I heard!).

Thankfully the light turned to green, even though I'd not initially noticed, as I stuffed the car in gear and floored it off round the roundabout...

Thank god I have the 'Anti-Hijack' switched on on my Fabia (auto locks the doors at 10mph)

I have no description of them other than Hoodies and Jeans! It was still dark, and their heads were above the roofline... only noticed the hoodies as I glanced back in my mirror to see them legging it into Tesco's carpark!

I'm off to Slough Police Station on my way home at 12:30 to report it, but as I have no description I don't hold out much hope for them getting caught!!

Tesco will have CCTV. If the police can be bothered they could look for hoodies running across the carpark at 6.20.

Is it in Australia that you can have flame throwers rugged up to your side skirts? Maybe SA idk... Little scrotes.

I think it's South Africa where such devices are fitted. I can remember seeing some guy who had lawn mower blades attached to the side skirts of his car....Bye Bye Shins!

Do report this as it could have been a nasty incident if you didn't have the auto locks. Imagine if they had knives and it was your wife/gf etc, nasty.

Yep it's always worth reporting.

Don't pretty much all new cars come with the auto-lock feature now?

I'm amazed these scum even try to steal new cars at traffic lights (I guess half of them are brain dead).

Also, what would you have done had the lights not changed for another minute? Could you get away with jumping a set of lights for the sake of getting out of harms way.

I have been at lights at night and someone tried and opened the passenger door. At which point I did the same as you, into first and floored it!

Ah yes the joys of Slough. The roundabout before Tesco was the place where an Office worker caught a bunch of scallywags on camera who had a scam going where they were crashing into the back of drivers and claiming for whiplash and so on.

Filthy town full of crooks and good for nothings.

But you could get them in SA, legally!

Correct, my mother had them on her Datsun 1800j but they have since been outlawed although you can still find them if you want them.

Op glad you're ok. I've been hijacked at gun point (lived in SA for 15 years, never hijacked. Within 4 years of moving to Holland I was staring down the barrel of a gun, for a freaking moped) and it's horrible. Luckily guns are much more difficult to obtain nowadays, I reckon this situation would be much worse otherwise.

People don't do that here... you get your face blown off if you attempt to enter someones vehicle.

Glad you're ok, my key fob only opens the driver door on single click, the rest on double click, makes you think!

Phoned the police this morning to report it...

All I got was "Thanks for reporting this, we'll keep a look out!" No Incident number or anything!

I even told them about the CCTV (there's one right on that corner of the building) and they said "Thanks!"

If the lights were still Red I'd have still booted it!! I've never gone round that roundabout quicker!!!

glad your ok

Shame my new car doesn't auto lock, I really miss that feature, my old clio sport had it and I loved it for this very reason, my new focus zetec unfortunately doesn't have it, and I keep forgetting to lock it manually !
