How do I power my 7870XT from my PSU (EVGA G2 850W)? Two leads or just one?

I'm moving my Radeon 7870XT from my old machine to my new one. It's currently has two 6 pin PCI-E leads connected back to the (old) PSU.

My new PSU (EVGA 850W G2), has four VGA sockets:-
VGA1 & 2: 2 x PCI-E 6+2 pin
VGA3 & 4: 2 x PCI-E 6+2 pin + 6pin

It has three leads:-
2 x leads ending in single 6+2 pin
2 x leads ending in 6+2 pin and a 6 pin

Do I just use two leads into VGA 1 & 2 and plug them into the two PCI-E sockets on the graphics card?

Or can I use just ONE lead in VGA 3 and plug the it into both the two PCI-E sockets on the graphics card.

You only need to worry about spreading the load if your PSU has several 12V rails inside, or suspect wiring that may not be up to the current draw of both connectors. Your PSU is a single rail, so that's fine, it's also a qualify unit so the cables will be up to the job, and the 7870 doesn't make heavy demands on the PSU. Short version, you'll be fine to use any cable connection that's you want so choose the neatest/easiest.

If you ever change to something like a 295X2 though, then I'd definitely make sure to use different cables for each connector, but with a 7870 you'll be fine mate.

Cool! So one of the single cables with two PCI-E plugs at the end into VGA 3 or 4 then!

Thanks!
