Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2014, Yas Marina - Race 19/19

I agree I think Rosberg is better off in 2nd. What it comes down to is being in a position to capitalise if Hamilton DNF.

Rubbish, Hamilton doesn't need to win. If he was 2nd he absolutely doesn't need to take risks and Rosberg can do absolutely nothing to Hamilton if he's in the lead. The only way he can force an error from Hamilton is from behind.

A slower driver who has, again focus on this, not once beaten Hamilton from behind and has failed to put pressure on him from behind except when getting hugely lucky on strategy... when he still failed, will put pressure on him from behind? lol.

Rosberg has on every occasion failed when fighting Hamilton from behind, you think he would choose to be behind when that has failed every single race this year, but when ahead he's won a couple of times (when Hamilton didn't have an issue). Chose the low percentage play or the zero percent play... sure, most drivers would choose the one that has failed EVERY SINGLE TIME this year over the one that has worked a couple of times.

Alonso complaining over the radio about Stevens.
Ferrari pit responds - It's the new boy, he has a lot to learn.

Utter bovine excrement! You're racing for position. Unless it's written into the concorde agreement that if a red car comes up behind you, you MUST leap out of the way and lick the drivers boots clean after the race.

I very much doubt he dropped behind on purpose, he almost got caught by Massa which would have really stuffed him. That said, he probably is better off behind as otherwise Hamilton would simply need to cruise round behind him and Rosberg can't pressure. By the same token though, even in front, if Hamilton was really under pressure, he could just let him pass and cruise round behind him still

If alonso comes 4th at the end of the season it is testament how amazing he is taking that car and doing so well. If it was just down to how good your car is he should be 7th or 8th in the WDC

If was Nico I'd be tempted to play a bit a dirty and force the pit crew's hand and tell them I'm coming in with the minimum time they need to prepare. They can choose to service the car or not.

If they service it, it will pee of Hamilton, but Nico would benefit from the undercut.

It'd be a risk, but he hasn't got anything to lose really.

Of course he didnt do it on purpose.

Coulthard saying he thinks Rosberg sets up more for qualifying....just what i think as well.

He's been doing it for 4 years, Schumacher often looked better in race than Rosberg, but was often starting 2-4 cars back. His racecraft was unsurprisingly better but he just looked faster in general. I said it long before Hamilton joined and it's been patently obvious for a very long time now.
