Surprised there hasn't been a post on this. This could be a political ploy to try and gain support through fear mongering but who knows. So what is going to happen, should we expect people to be bombed/beheaded day by day, how are we going to deal with this?

What are you even talking about? I assume that this is in relation to some news story but you appear to have turned GD upside down and instead of linking and running, you've not linked and given an opinion.

You are so out of touch with the living world, living in your hippie escapist NZ commune. You may like to think you have some idea of current events in the modern world however if you choose to hide away in the back and beyond then so be it but you are truly out of touch with our world.

Gotta agree with this dude even if the thread wasn't the best made!

I get the irony seeing as I don't even live in the country, but even I was aware of what Teresa May said today.

It's not really Jsmokes fault you don't know and maybe you should try being less acerbic/runtish about things.

Why is she crazy, I agree there is a political aspect to this but only the other week there were a series of arrests regarding a plot to behead a member of the public.

We have British nationals fighting for IS out in the middle east, what happens when they come home.

I think the extra powers are somewhat pathetic. Now they can move suspected terrorists around the country and have passed the burden of preventing extremists recruiting to the local councils/schools now they can say failings are at a local level.

The one part that interests me is the snoopers charter coming in via backdoor.

Ok, I've found the story skulking around in a sidenote on the Guardian website but the BBC don't seem interested in it.

I'm not really surprised by the information she's being given and even if you remove some of the political strengthening intent it's clear that 'something big' happening is perhaps more a question of when rather than if.

What do you mean by "something big"?
