Hey good people of ocuk.

Got one of these units...

I purchased this in june of last year, within a few months the display went, everything else worked apart from the display,i got this replaced very quickly from the company i got it from.

Now,today its gone again ! the company i got it from contacted phobya and they said it has one years warranty.

Found this on phobyas website...http://www.phobya.com/en/

"Customer support: The Phobya warranty for customers from the EU:
Phobya offers an extended product warranty within the EU, which, far beyond the legal requirements, will apply up to 5 years after the date of purchase if a reclamation is filed. The product simply has to be registered 2 months after the Invoice date at Phobya at no cost. The warranty period can span from 2 to 5 years and is noted with the product. The warranty covers all reasons for reclamation which would also be covered by the legal warranty (usually 2 years). Signs of use and normal wear and tear are not covered. Should an item not be repairable it will be replaced with the same product or the successor or a better product"

I didn't know about the extended warranty either until today.

What do you think my chance are of getting it replaced after this time,as the first one went back due to the same problem.

Would like to hear you thoughts on this.

Ive no experience of Phobya's CS, but I'd be preparing for their reply which could well be along the lines of 'one year warranty only as you did not register for the extended warranty cover'

You could well argue that 2 units failing in just over a year with the apparent same problem are indicitive of possible inherent flaw with unit. You may be able to also argue that there was no indication with your paperwork of an extended warranty being available (not sure if that's true or not obviously)

Then again they might just say 'yep no problem we'll sort it for you'

Indeed it never hurts to ask a company to fix/help sort a problem beyond their legal requirements. But by the sound of they should have to fix or replace for you, regardless of registry.

If it was logitech there wouldn't be this thread, some company's need to learn from other company's with outstanding customer service.

Well,I've got a reply already, sent it in the early hours of this morning explaining the poor quality of the 2 units and they are going to replace it,I'm preety shocked at the speed they replied.

So,at least we know they have a good customer service.
