Guys,

I've had to RMA my GTX 970 G1 (grade B), quite disappointed, I spent a whole day trying to get it to work: scouring error logs, trying different drivers, updating my UEFI BIOS and clean installing Windows :(

The card was crashing my computer (black screen) even on desktop. I had to do full hard power downs to get it to work again.

I've sent it back and i've temporarily gone back to my trusty Gigabyte 670.

Anyway, this time I'm not going for grade B (I think I was just unlucky). I'm wondering if I should go for another G1 or go for the MSI GAMING EDITION? The MSI is £25 less and that is appealing, also it has got really good reviews.

The only thing that worried me were reports of the MSI fans continually powering on and off. Has this been resolved via a BIOS update?

Many thanks

To be honest I'd recommend the G1 however you've had a bad experience because of doing B grade. Probably best to go MSI, both cards clock really well and you'll be pleased to know that there is also a custom bios for the MSI aswell for even higher clocks :)

G1 and strix are meant to be the best, but I've gone for the galax 970 black edition and am well impressed with it, nice and quiet with no coil whine :) Its in the black friday section :D

The msi seems to be the card of choice around here, with most sold.
I think I'm right in saying that's because it was the only card readily available in mass quantity.

If other manufacturers had the same amount of cards available, would it still be the case?
